Does your spouse have a problem with your flashlight fetish?

I mean, considerable coin coming out of your bank account, credit card, or whatever every month(if you’re like me). My wife has been pretty cool so far and I’m surprised. I suspect there is some big pay-back coming. Ya know, the big kitchen overhaul or new flooring we don’t need or whatever. I think its in my best interests to buy all the lights I can while I can still afford them.

She gives me shit about it but in a playful way. I don’t drink, smoke and I’m faithful to her.
She is smart enough to not get in the way of my hobbies.

She thinks I have completely lost my mind but, doesn’t give me too much grief. I grab her some health and beauty supplies off BG or Ali, throw a light or two in the order and keep my mouth shut. She fell in love with a Nitecore Tini so one of those is in her purse and she informed me last week that I need to order another Emisar D4 for her nightstand flashlight where a Convoy S2 now sits. So I guess it works out for both of us.

Simple answer.

YES…
But I work around it.
Don’t spend more than $25 per week. She doesn’t notice.

I Think! ! ! .

I know the gf sometimes, umm, “wonders” at my interest in lights.

Then I gave her an SP10A (and eneloop, and LK-100B), which she loves.

As long as we use the flashlight that we have bought, they will keep quiet and think we really need it.
Problem is we have too many flashlights and we don’t use some of them for months or years. And we continue to buy new flashlights.

My wife says I can accumulate as much of anything I like…………
as long as it isn’t other women!

I long ago tried to ‘gift’ her with a new light.
“Butt this one works fine”

Now I just try to intercept the postal carrier…and lie about the cost if caught.

She often ask why another one ? Then I say stocking up for the apocalypse. Lol

She’s cool about it, but now snags the ones she likes from the collection…

What flashlight fetish?! Are you implying I might have a problem? Why, I can stop any time I want! Harummph!

No, she doesn’t care too much about the stuff I buy. My wife and I share a lot of hobbies. She’s not as into flashlights as I am but she has a small collection and carries one or another in her purse every day.
On the other hand, she buys art supplies. Lots of art supplies. I don’t say anything. Nothing at all. Nope.

For me it was easy since she met me being a flashaholic (Been one since childhood) she knew about my flashlight addiction and she still said “Yes” saved both of our butts several times during power outages, once in a shopping center underground parking lot, zero light! everyone else was trying to find their way using lighters (back in the 90’s) Out came a SureFire 9P boom instant daylight (Only 125 lumens! LOL)

My greatest fear is that if I die she will sell them for what I told her I paid for them.

We were on the bottom-out tour from Carlsbad when my wife, myself and another photog lingered behind the main group. The new Ranger/tour guide cut the lights before we were out. My wife had 2 lights in/on her purse and I had a couple pocket/clipped to share. We came out without headbangs nor lawsuits. Carry smart.

Oh God, I need an exclaimt

“Honest! I won yet another giveaway!!”

I’ve done that on occasion myself.
I can also get away with buying things by PayPal unnoticed from time to time. Flashoholism certainly can lead us into some gray areas.

Damn that flashohol…

well, she does have her own grey areas…Thank God
I don’t look at her checking account, she don’t know my Paypal password
butt it all comes due once a month as we pay the bills
We don’t quibble the small stuff
Butt I can’t get by with too much.

Marraige is a workable arrangement of two distinct persons, not a meld into one.

No.
But that’s founded in this bird fly solo and always have, not by choice but rather the fact i need a extreme level of trust in people near to me.
Hell i dont even talk to most of my own family as they have shown their hand and i did not like what i saw.
