buton-top Samsung 30q - second clear wrapper?

I just got some Samsung 30Q from Banggood. I tested 16, and only one came in below 3100-ish mah, so I’m not very concerned about that aspect.

My question – should they look like the button was set on to with another insulator and a clear wrap shrunk over the assembly?

the buttons get added to the original cell
the 2. shrink tube is necessary so that they sit tight

Thanks.
I was pretty sure they were OK, but I’m an admitted noob to these.

If I’m reading the replies properly, does that mean I can remove the clear outer wrap and the button part should come right off?

Any thoughts on the one that tested low? 2980 is still near spec, but it’s over 100 less than any other cell with a resistance measure almost double that of the higher measured cells and 4x the lower measured cells.

The buttons are supposed to be spot welded on. The second wrap is to hold the insulator around the button top. Check to see if the button is loose on the cell that tests lower, or run it through a few more cycles.

High resistance…
Dubious…
I remembered something similar… http://budgetlightforum.com/comment/1426632#comment-1426632

So far only 1 cell out of 24 tested shows lower capacity and higher resistance. At this point, I’m willing to entertain the idea that I got a legit but marginal cell. I’d be more paranoid if these came from AliExpress. From BangGood, I have a little more confidence.

Once I get them all tested, I’ll contact the seller and see what they say.

Yep.
While BG sent my country I always received legit batteries, but about 2 years ago they did not send batteries…

I bought 30q cells from an ebay seller (in Florida IIRC) and later on got more 30q from Illumn. The latter have the extra clear-plastic wrap, the former do not have the wrap so the insulator is uncovered. I’m wondering if the absence of the clear plastic is a bad sign in terms of genuineness, or if it means nothing. Do real ones always come from the factory with the 2nd wrap?

The wrap is determined by the manufacturer who put the button top on the battery. It's also possible the seller removed it but I fail to see why they would. I view the extra wrap as a precaution as the insulator can be peeled off easily.

FYI / Update — I decided to remove the wrapper from one and see if I could remove the button.

The second wrapper was plain clear plastic.
The insulator was adhesive backed to hold it in place.
This is how the button was attached. They sure didn’t skimp on spot weld points. Side note – the resistance measurement went down about 10 ohms after I removed the button.
