Samsung high tech 21700 48X 4800mah and 50G 5000mah battery

These high-capacity 21700 batteries are commonly used in electric vehicles. It has excellent consistency, high power, high capacity and very high cycle life

In the field of electric vehicle battery, battery quality requirements are very strict. Thousands of batteries are combined into a battery pack, which requires excellent consistency and more than 2000 cycles of cycle life

So the battery rating is very harsh

Samsung 48x and 50g are excellent batteries with similar power performance, which beat Sony VC7, Samsung 50E, Samsung 48g and LG M50

Please refer to discharge curve comparison 15A

In addition, the Samsung 48x has an amazing 3000 cycle life

This is the highest cycle life of cylindrical lithium battery that I have seen so far, which is a happy thing. Lithium battery technology is progressing slowly

This 21700 Tesla rewrap also has 15A continuous and slightly higher capacity, and 1500 cycles, should be enough for most BLF’ers.

I don’t see any graphs comparing the 48x and 50G. Do you know why Samsung created two models if they have the same performance?

Hopefully HKJ gets a pair of each soon.

We have sent each pair to HKJ a few days ago Smile

I don’t see the graphs either. Tried a couple browsers and on mobile and no difference.

I had trouble seeing them too, on mobile I could see the non loaded pic icon and open in a new tab and that worked.

edit : thijsco19 mirrored them just before me.

I assume the 48x trades a bit of capacity for cycle life. It would be nice to see the full specs/datasheets.

Is the issue file sharing between China and rest of the world ? if so a quick search gave some results : https://nihaocloud.com/ , https://cowtransfer.com/ (I haven’t tested those)

Mooch’s Test of G50

Quote:
…The Vapcell G50 is a great performing ultra-high capacity 21700 cell. These beat the blue Vapcell 12A 5000mAh, Samsung 50E, and Samsung 50E2. Vapcell says they are rewrapped Samsung 50G cells and they look and perform essentially the same as the Samsung 50G…

…Samsung gives the 50G a 9.8A continuous rating and a 14.7A non-continuous (“temperature-limited”) rating. This means you can use it at 14.7A as long as the cell temperature does not go over 60°C/140°F…

The capacity of the two cells I tested was 4978mAh and 4979mAh…

Both Samsung 50g and 48x currently come in two colors, gray and green

The figure below shows the complete technical table of 48x

Thanks for the tests Dennis.

In the datasheet above, does anyone know why it says “Avoid direct wind” in section 3.1 and 3.2?

On a different note, too bad the datasheet doesn’t specify either the 4.15V -> 3.0V capacity or the cycle life at 4.2V -> 2.5V
