Don't piss on my cornflakes and tell me I've bought the biggest load of crap in the universe but i thought for my first LED flashlight this will get me going , I've picked up a Novatac Storm from Amazon for $13 + shipping.
I have read all the problems so i think i now what to do and what not to do , but if anybody has one and can fill me in on the positives of the flashlight it would be appreciated .
PS i haven't had a email from the seller yet so it could all be a wind up
That's what i thought but i got my wife to check it as she uses Amazon a lot and it seems legit it's roughly £8 which with google converts to $13 give or take
Yeah, that light was a super-deal when they had it at Battery Junction for $39. I hope they honor the price and you get it for $13! Now that is a budget light!
I like a bargain too, so I had a (very) quick look on Amazon.co.uk & there are 2 left, so i ordered one. Now I guess I'll have to have a look for the specs. I'll put the $3 refund from the Magicshine DX fiasco towards it.
Great so it isn't a wind up , to be honest i didn't check the spec before i bought it and from the little I've researched it's the budget end of Novatac , I'm new to flashlights so if you can enlighten me please post what you find
PS my wife said not mention it on the forum in case i start a stampede
Absolutely. The CPF camp was pretty divided on this one when Novatac transitioned operations to Asia, and HDS branched off in the USA. A lot of the negativity regarding Asia-Novatac stems from these kinds of patriotic sentiments. Which IMHO is perfectly OK... BUT as the consumer you have to understand where the negativity is originating from. Is it from a physically poor design... or something else? IMHO, At the heart of the design remains a well made and well designed light. Its a bit out-dated by todays standards in terms of brightness... but its a solid tool... IMHO.
Not that I was in a rush to take advantage, you understand, but I didn't even look at the seller's feedback on Amazon. Overall, very good, but someone called Sarah has had about 30 "cancelled" transactions - all dated today. Another, today reports transaction cancelled for no reason. There were only 2 lights available in stock - frigiliana ordered one, & I ordered one, but still shows as 2, so I won't be holding my breath.
I guess you saw Selfbuilt's review in the other place - basically not bad for $40. And there is the 250 click trick to access programming mode. Don't think I'll bother with that one.
As an aside, did you notice the last two (customer) images? Not quite sure what's going on there!
Just checked on Amazon this morning - now shows one Novatac Storm available. That might be good news - it was 2 available last night when I ordered one. Haven't heard from the seller yet, but that's hopefully because of time differences.
Amazon dealers have been playing this game for almost a year now ..ask okwchin when he bought his novatac 120 ..he asked em to ship it to him and when he was looking I had to do a mini search and came up with some amazon oddly cheap prices novatacs too ...Just another reason I don't look on amazon for anything . They bait and switch and play games with shipping and prime ..Not interested in games
