Fantastic forum, glad I found it

Hey guys,

The forum has given me a lot of great information, thanks guys.

A little about me-

Lights- I am newish to the world of flashlighs, I have a surefire e2d

I have on order ultrafire 502b and plan to get surefire g2; however, I am looking to get a budget friendly surefire g2 type light to throw around. I found this,

http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewitem?itemId=260998456054&index=2&nav=SEARCH&nid=70248257332

Any sugestions?

Thanks again for all the help,

Joe

Welcome to BLF, Cookswithfire. Although I haven't purchased a Surefire in years, my E2D is one of my favorite lights, especially with regard to the form and size of the body. I wish Solarforce or somebody, made a 3 mode (H,M,L) XM-L light in that size/shape. That would be sweet! And since I'm dreaming, I'd like the pocket clip reversed so it can be carried switch up.

Welcome to BLF.

My favorite silver P-60 host at the moment is this bad boy.

Don't get that, it's just a 501b with a Red drop-in. You can get the same package from Manafont for ~$13.

Empty host - $6.19 - http://www.manafont.com/product_info.php/ultrafire-wf501b-flashlight-tube-shinny-black-no-led-emitter-p-8838

Red drop-in - $6.60 - http://www.manafont.com/product_info.php/generic-red-beam-mode-led-dropin-module-3718v-p-7807

You can also get dropins in Green, Blue, UV, IR, warm tints, or the highly recommended:

3-mode XML - Crazy Bright - $16.21 - http://www.manafont.com/product_info.php/ultrafire-cree-t6-3mode-memory-led-dropin-module-42v-max-p-5178

I personally prefer these hosts, they are a little more expensive but much nicer than the 501b:

504b - $8.12 - http://www.manafont.com/product_info.php/ultrafire-wf50x-flashlight-tube-metal-bezel-black-no-led-emitter-p-6064

Also available in silver - http://www.manafont.com/product_info.php/ultrafire-wf50x-flashlight-tube-metal-bezel-silver-no-led-emitter-p-6065

Or the Sky Ray S-R5 - $7.99 - http://www.manafont.com/product_info.php/sky-ray-sr5-flashlight-tube-no-led-emitter-p-5548

Hello and welcome to BLF, Cookswithfire! Strictly a Solarforce man here...

Welcome to BLF !

Welcome aboard, Cookswithfire! Glad you decided to join us

Welcome to BLF, CooksWithFire!! Glad to have you here!

Stop that G2 purchase before you waste your money! If you want a light at least as good for a fraction of the price get the Solarforce P1 in your choice of color (black, olive, tan or yellow) for $25 and add a 1, 3 or 5 mode drop-in for $15. You will have a nearly indestructable light you can literally throw around and not worry about for only $40 total. If you want a colored LED drop-in they have those too for the same price.

Don't waste your time or money on the ebay light you linked to. You will only be disappointed.

JohnnyMac is spot on about that!

Welcome to BLF

BTW on a non connected sidenote - I read your name wrong the first time over so I thought that username was a little fresh. All god now though - two O's in that and not a C... Oh well moving on :-)

HAHAHA! Modern medicine can stop the burning.

Welcome to the flashlight asylum, cookswithfire.

Is that somesort of Indian name, like 'Dances with Wolves" or "Broken Chinese Condom"?

Or have you already adopted Foyrish as your new language?
