BLF Interest list for Very High Current Beryllium Copper springs Pt1(ENDED)

Yeaaah. However, I was willing to take off some of my springs so everybody could have them at least.

This is why I wanted to stop at 1950 springs: in case there are problems, there would still be springs that could be shipped.

Edit: Maybe I should have changed the title when I closed the GB. My fault. :person_facepalming:

Also, there is a good reason for why the Fasttech Carobronze spring sags electrically and mechanically:
it has a way too wide top diameter, thinner wire, and probably uses a lower electrical grade phosphor bronze at 15% IACS vs the C54400 19% IACS of the djozz springs. It also has a bit too many coils. Removing one while widening the top diameter would help a bit in terms of mechanical strength.

Edit 2: Iā€™m way too soft. I should have refused for his spring demand.

@shirnask and skinny-tie, I will put some extra things in your order so you will still have some good things in your package. Brass buttons and perhaps, some small extras :+1:

@Mr.Scott, Iā€™m really sorry for forgetting about your order. Iā€™ve corrected the error now.

Edit 3: TheOnlyDocc, out of kindness and patience, will wait for the next batch. So you can get your springs back.

Can I have 25 small springs? Thanks.

Done. Updated the excel file.

I would like 50 small springs.

Added too.

Add 20 small springs, please

Thanks BlueSword, Iā€™ll gladly take 25 and be happy with that. Donā€™t want to cause any problems.

Iā€™m on the list for 50 large and 50 small. Iā€™m willing to take 10 less of each if that will help spread the love.

Thatā€™ll be no problem for small springs, and even big springs. You donā€™t need to reduce the number of springs you have.

MrScott, you will have 50 big springs exactly, donā€™t worry.

We are currently at exactly 2000 big springs and 1668 big springs.

Sorry guys if I was off for a few days, but coming back from the airport Friday, and working on Saturday, and then sleeping normally, awakened stiff neck(torticollis?) in me for about 2 days.

I could do anything except do graphical work for some reason, since it required a lot of precision. I do not know why, but everything that required a lot of precision made my neck hurt quite a bit, and I made so many errors that it was not worth it.

Luckily, Iā€™m recovering, and I should be able to resume work on this GB quickly enough.

So, did any of you 4 guys receive your big springs, except for Texas Ace, as he already received them?

Let us know.

Iā€™ve also began drawing the small spring, which looks like a much beefier version of the Fasttech spring.

I will also start designing the spring ASF asked, and change a few parameters if needed according to the calculations that I will do to get good mechanical properties in such a narrow spring.

Nopeā€¦ nothing yet in my corner of the world.

I still do wonder why you havenā€™t gotten your packages yet.

Texas Ace came in a bit early, and everybody else is starting to be a bit too late in delivery :exclamation:

Yepā€¦ it is a bit of a mystery indeed. Hopefully they will show up before long.

Mine came in yesterday while I was out of town. Nice bunch of shiny silver springs, I would not relish having to count those out! :stuck_out_tongue:

Tried them on a light I built up, the large springs are pretty big, pretty strongā€¦ I really didnā€™t see a gain and in fact I had to bypass the 2 of them to actually get close to where I already had the light performing. This is a quad Samsung LH351D in 5000K 80CRI trim. (Essentially a home made Emisar D4S without the auxillary lights) I had originally used one of Richards stout springs (from one of his new boost drivers) with a braid bypass and a weak tail switch single spring with a through-board 20ga bypass to get 5685 lumens, replacing both springs with these new ones I was down considerably over the original readings, like 4200 lumens, but spring bypasses got me back up to 5520 lumens using the same cell as before. Not quite sure why I canā€™t see as much or more, but it is what it isā€¦

Thanks for the efforts Blue, will update as I make other changes in other lightsā€¦

Oooh nice, you finally received them. I was getting worried.

And looks like at 1300 lumen difference is normal between my big springs and a 20AWG bypass. Itā€™s bang on about 13-14A of max current on these springs.

What bin are your Samsung LH351Ds? Also, can you measure the current with these springs using your clamp meter? That would be very nice.

Edit: Itā€™s the T6 bin, right?

Also, you must be close to the limit with your emitters with a spring bypass? Your lights are just monsters. I hope my springs will help out with your journey of lighting your life

I wonder what a dual spring setup would do? Little spring inside of big spring. Thatā€™s how I plan to use mine.

It would probably up the lumen count by 600 lumens, 700 lumens at absolute best.

Or maybe a bit less.

When do we make payment?

The Samsung emitters I got are U6 binā€¦ LH351D5000K80CRIU6

Edit: 18.59A at the tail on a rested and partially used Sony VTC5A 18650.
