Hmm…
So a Chinese Li-Ion maker is more advanced than American companies.
I would have guessed that the Japanese would be the most advanced because some of the best cells are released by Japanese companies first, and it seems like the rest of the world is trying to catch up to the Japanese for Li-Ion cells. :man_shrugging:

South Korean companies design and manufacturer a ton of EV batteries too, like Samsung and LG.

CATL makes good batteries. We had a large bank of their LFP prismatic cells for the off-grid solar at our old house. They were in service for 10 years before we moved. No issues with them. I have no idea if batteries made in the US would have been any better, but there was no choice in 2012.
