ENEDED

Thanks. That’s interesting. You mentioned there would be a minor output bump of like 200 lumens or so I believe, and there would be less heat at the same time for the second batch. So who knows there is a major driver re-design with a boost driver. Honestly, if there is such a difference, testing the new batch and comparing to the first one would be really nice as well.

I know these are flat tops, but does anyone have any experience with this Brand?

I don’t see a good reason why anyone should consider these. For the same, or even less money, you can get genuine Samsung 30Q cells.

I noticed that Matt (from Adventure Sport) has got some videos on reflowing LEDs. Really enjoyed his Giggles video (and the self built camping lantern one), so I’ll be giving him some more views!

Ordered 10/12 and shipped 10/13, Thanks freeme .

Ah well, Royal Mail 48 hours haven’t received mine yet from Banggood EU/UK, despite 2 1/2 days waiting for it from their centre in Birmingham. So I’m not going to have it in my hands for at least another week (business travel next week). Thought I might have had it by tomorrow. Maybe someone else will be first to report on what might have changed, before then.

Reflowing leds on mcpcb’s is pretty similar. Here, check this link. It’s pretty cool.

Ooh I like that - fresh chips in the oven!

Another reply from the Banggood.
They asked me to check the batteries…
AGAIN.

Either I am totally stupid and the battery charge - within Li-Ion limits - can cause the driver to malfunction - or they didn’t bother to look at the movies I sent to them, just issued a ‘general troubleshooting response’.
Maybe they are just waiting for me to fix it myself and don’t bother them…
…I am really disappointed with BG for handling the light. First, the phantom tracking code, now - this.

I hope I won’t have to deal with BG too. Because I’m dealing one with Gearbest now. The AR coating is defected and missing in some area on my HaikeLite MT03 lens. Submit a ticket to them for return & exchange with pictures and they replied me with $5 USD partial refund and I keep the item. Really??? 5 USD? I know I get to keep the item but how much is the light….?

I don’t want to keep the item that I’m not happy with. Sure the light is working properly but up on close range I can tell the uncoated area of the lens is projecting less lights on the wall on close range.

I expected them to inspect their products before leaving the factory because shipping to US took them 2+ weeks to get to me.

I just relied that I DO NOT want refund, I want to return & exchange. hope they have actual human reading and reply for the next message, because what I got from them was clearly a keyword search and copy/paste their FAQ URL to me.

I hope the MF01 and Q8 from Banggood won’t put me through the same issue if somehow I got another defected product.

Here is the first reply they gave me:

Please review our possible solutions:

1) Keep the item and accept a partial refund to your GB Wallet as store credit.
In this case, you can keep the item and do not need to return it to us.
We can offer a partial refund 5 USD to your Wallet and reward you with extra points (e.g. If your refund is 1 USD = 2 points, 3 USD = 6 points etc.). This amount can be used for your future orders.

2) Keep the item and accept a partial refund to your original payment account.
We can refund 5 USD to your original payment account.
Please note:

  • For PayPal account refunds it may take 48 hours days to process and appear in your PayPal account.

This is normal for Gearbest and most similar companies, they try to do the cheap thing first, just demand a new lense. It only costs a dollar or two, probably. Or contact Haikelite and see what a new lens costs. They can probably send you one for under $5.

The Q8 doesn’t go through BG, the Miller is handling any issues on that light.

Mine just landed today only ordered on the 9th Oct (second batch I think) very very fast delivery only paid extra for the insurance

Lovely colour off the Nichias just charging new 30Q’s for playing tonight vs my Q8.

On lowest setting all LED’s look the same brightness by eye.

Sounds like yours shipped from UK warehouse too, same as mine. Except Royal Mail are still waiting for mine to be handed over to them (3 days now).

I don’t suppose you would strip it down and show us photos of the LED MCPCB and the driver ?

Ahh, I didn’t think so

I’ll ask them for new lense, but since I’m a flashlight noob, and I broke many things in my life, what is the safest way to take that lense off on the HaikeLite MT03? Any tips will be greatly appreciated. Plus I really don’t want to pay like $20 shipping fee from US to CN… ( I haven’t gone to the post office and weight the item yet, but I would assume it isn’t cheap l)

$20? Usually people say it’s closer to $60 because you have to use DHL with tracking and insurance to ship a light from the US to China and make sure it gets there.

I don’t own a mt03, so I’ll let others answer how to remove the lense. Usually you just unscrew the cover off the head, right next to the lense.

hmmm… I don’t see and screws besides the one on the switch… And I can’t twist it apart too, I certainly hope that glass thing isn’t glued on the head. And if it’s really $60 to send it back I guess I’ll just live with this small defected lens and accept their 1% partial refund… The lens is like 20~25 of the area is not coated.
I also emailed HaikeLite about the lens and haven’t got anything back yet.

I was also trying to make a new post asking the question but the forum kept saying error and unable to post… If anyone here reading knows how to remove the lens please PM or reply directly. Thanks!

Just ask on an MT03 thread. I’m sure you’ll get an answer. I know Tom E did a complete overhaul on his and is getting 27K lumen.

Other MT-01 is on the way. Thanks Freeme. I compare the first version .I hope the new one will be better …

u must be unlucky.

i had both version (Nichia and XPG3) on first round and both working evenly
