I wonder If you can speed it up even more you could photograph the very fabric of space / time or even visualize universes within universes kind of something like a zoetrope, very interesting indeed!
I once had a gated image intensifier tube. Using the gate signal you could switch the tube intensifier on/off as fast as a nanosecond. I used a dual pulse generator to fire an LED and gate the intensifier. You got many of the same effects, just with a million times lower coolness. Light travels 11” per nanosecond, so the resolution was around a foot.
