Fireflies E07 CU Titanium Limited version Preorder interest?

Jack is a nice guy who tries his best for your satisfaction, at least for mine. I went back several times to him in PM with different requests, he didn’t respond right away each times which is fine for me since I guess he is busy, but there was always an answer.

In case it wasn’t clear from my previous post, I am happy with the product and the customer support I’ve received from FireFlies.

With all the differences between the US and China (time zone, language, culture , etc), the “custom run” nature of this product, and accounting for the presumably small size of the operation, I feel that it is important to remain patient if there are issues. These guys seem to actually care about the community and their customers.

my copper replacement head arrived yesterday, and all working well.

thank you jack and your support.

I got my Ti E07 bezel in since mine came with Cu. I haven’t put it on yet though. I’m going to re-flash latest Anduril when I do since I have to take the bezel off and disconnect Aux board to do it (I think), even with a flashing key.

Interested!

Interested.

I'm Interested

Mine has pads on the bottom, but I haven’t had the time to make my HQ key and try them yet. The Emisar key doesn’t have the same configuration, so it will not work. I don’t know the pinout yet, but I looked briefly and saw some tiny markings that should provide enough clues.

I am hoping to find time to do another flashing guide like the one for the D4V2 that TerryOregon started one of these days.

I re-arranged the the wires on the key I made and could never get it to work. It doesn’t seem like it fits the HQ ProgKey version very well.

If it works for you let me know and I will just solder directly to the pads.

BTW, i’m 99% sure it will never work with aux board still wired up.

Thanks for the heads up on that… it may save me some cursing and wasted time

I have received replacement head.

- head is coated, should be not coated

- it has strange marks, kind of dots

- button is not flat, it protrudes from one side

  • tailcap has cracks.

At least I have titanium bezel now. :person_facepalming:

If you remove the coating, it may remove the dots… otherwise, it may make for some interesting patina over time.

The button thing might just need some gentle pressure on the tall side to get the retaining ring seated.

Pretty sure the dots are from them putting it in that vacuum bag before the clear coat dried.

(which makes no sense because it’s coated anyways and wont patina)

Are those dots in the coating? Maybe it was handled before it dried.

This should answer your questions:

Mystery dots

Looks very likely to me. Since they don’t want the coating anyway, removing it should remove the dots.

@contactcr, did you ask for the copper bezel? I’m now afraid of getting one too. Ti or stainless would be much pretier.

Mine was one of the first to arrive. They sent me a new bezel and clarified everything on the site

really… i give up believing that FF would improved their QA by now… guess not… sad :person_facepalming: looks like you got a factory test sample head or something that shouldnt reach the customer….

Sample size of 1 here, but the cu/ti light I received was basically perfect.

I originally received a copper colored bezel, but an email to FF had that corrected in short order.

I ordered 2x more of the special material E07s and in both cases, I was told about issues BEFORE shipping.

The brass one had one tint bin listed on the website, and they received a different bin from their supplier. Jacky emailed me with the news and ordered acceptable options for a resolution.

I also ordered an all copper version, and got an email today that they had issues on the last run and the result was not satisfactory. I was offered another version or a refund if I preferred. I’ve emailed him back and forth today until a resolution to my satisfaction was reached.

I understand some have had difficulties with these lights, but all my interactions and all the products I’ve received so far have been great.
