[FIXED] I give up on these forums - any other iPad users out there?

Hus on first base. :)

I'm posting pictures from my photobucket account. When I try to add a photo iy shows up randomly, usually in the middle of a sentence. When I add a second photo it shows up anywhere it wants to and the third one goes wherever it wants to.

Of course not. I just haven't heard about their 'big red button' yet. They're all data mining companies. Apple and MS aspire to be what Google is in that regard. The only thing that keeps me using Google products is their policy is FREE. Apple will nickel and dime you wherever they can and MS is somewhere in between.

What I never understood is the dollar sign in M$ that is used by Apple fans. MS actually gives away good, free software and they are far behind Apple in profits and over all revenue. They make less money and even pay more taxes than Apple. That's one of the key factors that leads me to the religion statement. Apple even went out of their way to make sure consumers pay significantly more for ebooks by colluding with publishers. But the dollar sign is attribute with MS? Can't we all just enjoy the great tech from ALL of these companies? I feel like a dope if they think they've cornered me into their ecosystem.

No he did not! He stated that it was a apple. I stated what KIND of apple it was.

Keith (who knows his apple"s)

This could of been a helpful, informative thread, shame.

Is it a reference to this bit here.?

I don't get the apple/android hatred or the fanboyism..the topic always sparks a flame war..I own an iPhone and it's great..I also own an android 10.1" tablet and it's good too..they're different but both are decent..both have their pros and cons..I wouldn't outright call one product crap just because I own a different one..research everything closely and buy what you want, but don't start arguments because you're not happy with what you chose..if you were happy with what you chose you wouldn't feel the need to attack someone who chose differently..

+1

Starting to see more of it myself, as i tell my kids if you dont have anything nice to say dont say it. :-(

No this one. http://www.baseball-almanac.com/humor4.shtml

I actually can't even browse the threads with my kids around any more. As of late, a few pics I don't want my kids looking at have popped up in some threads. No nudity mind you, but too suggestive for a "family forum". My wife asked me what those pics were doing in a flashlight forum and I honestly had no good answer.

I personally don't have anything against them, but people don't seem to be honoring any of the forum rules lately.

I have to agree with you on the pictures. Some of them have gone a bit to far.

So M$ is just as greedy, but worse at business? Sounds like a company I want to look up to!

As for apple and e-books…there's also the side of them coming into the market competing against Amazon and looking for a way to get an edge. I'm still not convinced the collusion that the Department of "Just Us" has really proven anything against Apple at all. If Apple is guilty, then they deserve to pay the consequences, but simply finding a way to compete against Amazon is NOT a crime in and of itself. Many *experts* (for what that word is worth) have suggested that the Government has little to no case built regarding anti-trust against Apple. You can use the virtual monopoly of Google to find out more about that if you want.

Now what I don't get is that Microsoft completely OWNED the computing industry for two decades, and as soon as Apple truly becomes a force, people who never made a peep about M$ start crying wolf.

When it comes down to my view, I think that all companies are going to try to take advantage of the situation simply because companies are run by people and people tend to like money and power (and sex, but that's probably beyond the discussion) and will do almost anything to obtain and keep both!

Now if you want to know what REALLY makes me laugh (okay, you don't, but you'll get it anyway! ) is the people who complain about corporations and business and then turn around and suggest that more GOVERNMENT is the answer!

Historically, governments are the most corrupt entities on earth for the simple fact that they have NO accountability.

BTW, I really like my iPhone and iPad, but I do think that Samsung has put out some quality stuff lately. Microsoft mobile? They've got a tall mountain to climb. I kinda like some of the Droid stuff though. But I will confess I am a bit of an Apple Fanboy as I've used Macs since 1990 and stuck with them even when they were down and almost KO'd.

I admittedly haven't tried from photobucket, but if the embedded image function works for photobucket like it does the images I did earlier from my iPad, you should be able to simply cut/paste into the place where you want it. That's what I had to do to one of my images, though the other two worked fine as is.

I have to pass on a few thoughts on this "Apple War". I have been an IT Professional for most of my life with 40 years of experience to draw from as a Information Systems Specialist.

Why do you think that Apple only has 5% or so of the global computer market? I'm not impressed with numbers like that.

Why are there NO Apple Server Farms with the rare exception of a few graphics producers in Hollywood?

Why did Apple switch to Intel processors 6 years ago along with making most of their PC's Microsoft Windows compatable?

Why do Apple products not play nice with the rest of the computing world? Yes, you can do almost anything on a Apple that you can do on something else but for some strange reason, it's harder to do. Exclusivity has a price and usually the price is to high for the return.

If it was truely a superior quality product, why would Apple need to spend BILLIONS of dollars in advertising every year? Generally speaking, you only push/hawk a product that hard because it cannot compete in an open market without over hyping it (lie about it). When was the last time you saw an ad for Rolls Royce? They are few and far between. There is a good reason for that. I wouldn't buy an Apple anything even if I found the money for it laying in the middle of the road. No, I'm not a hater. With a few exceptions (flashlights?) I'm ruled buy common sense.

For those that choose to buy and use Apple stuff, I say - go for it. It's your money. Buy what you want. Please try not to burden the rest of us with the problems you encounter because of the choices you make. If you had actually sought an expert's advice, fewer than 5 in a 100 would recommend anything from Apple for the average user. They have historically appealed to the elite wannabe's that have been sold on the false promise of superiority for whatever XYZ reason that appealed to the buyer at the time of purchase. They cost to much and deliver to little. Good luck on finding an authorised Apple repair center near you. There is nothing you can do on Apple/Mac that you can't do cheaper and faster on something else. The numbers don't lie. I occasionally find a Mac on my workbench and I gotta admit, I don't like working on them. Special cables, connectors and tools are required but for the life of me, I can't figure out why except that maybe it was to pose as "better". If they were actually better, everyone would be using them. They're not.

This is not a slam on the OP but more of a educated "my 2 cents". Take from it what you will.

Uhm, no. THAT one is a take-off on the original Abbot and Costello routine that was actually a hoot. Chin-lung Hu is a professional baseball player that looked like he was going to go MLB for a while. Not looking so good now. The visual is the catch on this one. One of the better subtle comic pictures I've seen as of late. You may already know that about Hu and were just trying to take a shot at the former president Bush. Either way, in the off-chance you didn't know…

Because we all KNOW that Windows machines never encounter problems…

BSoD. One really shouldn't have to say anything more…

Sorry, scaru. Didn't see you had already posted that or I wouldn't have posted my own clarification. <embarrassed>

concur

Apple machines have their own issues as well, had to use them for a class in college, never have I used computers that were as buggy and big of POSs as that. You don’t get a BSOD on Apple, the whole computer just spontaneously reboots on you, happened many times. Also if you want to talk horribly designed UIs, Apple is the king of that.

Rezolution, this reply is not in direct reply to you it is for the general masses to consume. Please bare with me while my exuberance and passion for freedom seep out for a little bit.

As a Father of 6 and Grand Father of, 5 I've always felt that its the parents responsibility to censor NOT the fourm's responsibility. This is so that everyone else is not held to such a low tolerance that it becomes a $#!t Hole like CPF or similar other politically correct, obnoxiously over bearing site. Such sites make me vomit. Young children should never watch R rated violent or sexually suggestive movies. I'm afraid that some of you will need to remove your T.V. from your home immediately, dispose of it now. Would you do that? Hell NO you wouldn't, you're going to make sure you are responsible for your children's viewing especially when its your show. So you want to moderate and censor a web site. Hmmmm Are you lazy, or just want to have everyone adopt your oppressive attitude toward everything? Are we wanting to make this forum just like all the rest out there, because at _____ _______ forum that's what they do ? ( B.S. ) This forum exists and thrives because it lacks the restraint and oppression that other forms shove up your backsides.

So what, someone said they don't like MAC. Well....get over it. Anyone who got their feelings hurt should think about it for a second. Did it really offend you ? Is it worth getting into a wizzing contest over it ? Did someone else state their feelings and you disagree or do you over react. We are all adults here, this isn't high school, you don't have to like or agree to anything and I wouldn't want you to.

All of you have choices, you can agree to disagree or just take it for what it is, words typed out that you are now viewing on a G-damned monitor. I'm not talking about personal attacks or totally flaming anyone but strong objections or poking someone is healthy for all involved especially if it is meant in a friendly or humorous manner and not simply to bash someone. If your skin is too thin, how the hell have you survived life thus far? Do you want your Mommy......

If anyone is deterred by freedom, especially the freedom of ones opinion and how they really feel, they should turn the channel, go to the next thread, don't censor me and the rest of the crowd simply because you are at risk of having your feelings hurt. Please do us all a giant favor, any of you over sensitive candy-@$$ jack wagons out there, if you feel uncomfortable, please join CPF, let them take you, hold you safe in mommies arms and don't come here. Tissue ?
