I picked one up from Banggood a few weeks ago. Got a real nice price with M4D M4X’s link and code. Was thinking about a second one and Amazon’s shipping is a heck of a lot quicker than the row boat from China. No big deal though. I really don’t NEED one. That’s what the wife told me anyway. LOL
I have had this light for a few days now and it seems to be great quality. I would like to make a few suggestions to improve it.
Maybe use good quality double springs on each end to get good power transfer. The current tab on the tail cap does not bend back if compressed too far.
In the software, I would recommend one click on and off. Then press and hold to cycle through the brightness levels. It is a bit annoying to me to press and hold for off. I keep forgetting to do it and I switch levels instead of turning off. Lol
Also, 1800 lumen seems too much for high. I would reduce it to 1100 or so. 540 lumen is not bright enough for walking at night, but 1800 lumen is too bright. Plus makes too much heat and runs down the battery faster. Maybe make the levels: 8, 100, 400, 1100, 3500.
These are my only nit picks. Good job Lumintop. :+1:
Also, for those curious, you don’t have to hold the button 2 seconds to turn off or turn on to eco mode. I measured it at just under a second. It’s difficult to measure, but I would say 0.75 to 0.80 of a second.
Are you sure that battery is compatible with the ODF30?
I would suspect it is too long to fit and that it is also not going to provide enough amperage. I tried a protected KeepPower 5200mah cell and it was noticeably too long.
The description says max output is 5 amps, but that could be incorrect or refering to the other cells in that ad. I’ve measured over 10A draw from the ODF30 on turbo, so I would say that an unprotected cell would be best.
I have to assume they have been tested together and they work. Maybe the protection circuit is thinner than most and can do 10+ amps?
I’m asking a reviewer here on blf that has the battery for more details on it.
Another option is ordering a Shockli 26650 IMR 5500mAh from MTN. It’s $8.50 plus shipping.
