After waiting for 5 weeks for the delivery of my new King Kong 26650 yesterday my X10 was powered up for the first time properly (before that I just tested it with an 18650 for some seconds). LOVE IT! My new EDC and it's better then expected. Beast!
BUT it makes a high pitch noise, similar to Gen. 1 night vision devices.
I don't mind the noise itself since you can barely hear it butis it dangerous?
I only have one 26650 cell so I can't test the light with anything else. What are your opinions on this?
I just checked and no it doesn't, but I only have Trustfire flames right now, half charged, no proper battery to compare it except one unused Panasonic 3100 that I don't own any compatible light for right now. Should I charge it extra to see the result?
I've also noticed that the noise got quieter since yesterday which I assume is connected that I used the light a lot last night and the cell is less charged (I assume 60-70% now).
The King Kong was fresh and I charged it with this thing here:
It arrived, I put it into the charger and took it out when the red light started flickering (let's say 20mins. after the rapid flickering began). I don't know if the light is supposed to turn green or the red flickering indicated the end of the charging cycle.
I should have ordered the TR005 but was stupid and curious about the cheaper version and in the end I ended up getting only the cheapo.
And unfortunately I don't have a Voltmeter either at the moment.
On my Xtar, red flickering means the cell is not charging correctly. I believe you should see green when properly charged. Maybe you should test that theory with an 18650 battery? What type and capacity was the 18650 you used in the light?
I'd also check the KK with a multimeter if you have one.
With my lights, those with 7135 drivers will whine on mid mode-if the batteries are loose, don't have enough spring tension, or contacts are dirty. With clean contact points I get no whine at all, so you might wanna check/clean.
