My BLF A6 which I have had an enjoyed for a while now has now became very dimm but it still working as should (it’s just dimm). It’s not the battery, I’ve checked it on multiple ones. Has the light died?
Here’s a video showing the issue that I filmed yesterday.
First thing(s) I do if a light goes wonky is to take it apart as much as practical and “give it a tune-up”.
Snug up all retaining rings, remove/clean/lube all O-rings, clean/lube all threads, clean/buff exposed ends of the tube, springs, etc., for better electrical contact, and so on.
Yours sounds like it might be a driver issue. Ain’t got an A6, so will defer to those who do.
Thanks! I’ve cleaned it all and applied some bike grease very carefully and put it back together, but the issue remians Any suggestions for how I could fix the possible driver issue?
I noticed that the light flashes a number of times after you turn it on (LVP?). You mentioned that you tried a number of batteries but did you measure their voltages with a DMM?
It is me switching the modes from low, med and high. It seems like all the batteries I own have the same effect on the light. Sorry, I dont know what a DMM is, I am guessing I probably dont have one if I dont know what is is
Digital multimeter. What charger do you have? Does it show the battery voltage when you start charging a battery?
Just out of interest, where abouts in the UK are you based?
