street lamps in my neighborhood got converted to LED recently. there are 5 lamps on my little street, 30 emitters per lamp for a total of 150 emitters just for about 600 feet of street.
xm-l? you have 150 xm-l emitters lighting your street??...
don't know if they're xm-l. they probably are not. definitely LED.
i was just trying to say that those are the kinds of applications most LED's probably get used for - street lamps, traffic lights, headlamps on Audi's...
In particular it sounds like they want something tiny to be able to put in appliance bulbs and fan lights where they can't make CFL's small enough. They can also put them in cars for interior lights. Sounds like replacing 5W lights is what they're after. That's a pretty big market.
That dome worries me. Looks like it is meant as a diffuser to give an even light. But I won't say it has no practical application for flashlights.
And I will buy one .
