Excellent mod Old Lumens, there are always new things to learn with every new mod you do. Are you satisfied with the performance of the boss? Is it worth buying?
I really want to like the light, but two things stop me from recommending it.
The body threads are very poor and they want to cross thread easily. They will make the light useless in short order, because once they cross thread, it’s about impossible to fix. It is a serious problem with the light. This light is worth, (my opinion), about $30 stock, at most, due to the lack of quality.
Second, is the fact that the only thing that stops the light from rolling off the table is the handle. I would have rather had a tail cap with flats, so that when you set the light down, it would not roll.
So the Boss is back in town. Old Lumens that is. Love the mod especially the wood work. Its a shame about the host though.
I might have a fix for that. It is not a straightforward mod, but is has some potential. My take on modding the Palight BOSS1
