Guys, with regard to sac02’s post way above, concerning protected cells; I will likely be getting one of my two Q8’s for a buddy. He is not really a rank amateur either, but certainly not top notch li-ion savvy. All four cells will be charged together and used only for this light. Will protected be much safer for him, or in the Q8 will it not matter much?

Protected cells would probably be good for people who don’t pay attention to their batteries. Certainly can’t hurt
