R4 (neutral) or R5 cool. Anyone know how many lumens it puts out on either?
Or - if like it's predecessor (R3-N3) it runs low enough of voltage to be smooth regulation/otherwise great on alkalines?
Would seem like a good ~premium light for a gift...or at least it's predecessor was at the time. Curious about the new version if anyone has it & is feeling chatty.
I own two . Well made , durable lights . I have used them as bike lights and they seem to take the vibration just fine . The pulse width modulation is fairly slow . I like the fact that you can use these with a cr123 . I have the R4 tint and I like it .
I have 1. It is a good quality light. The thread screw in very smooth. I think i have the R5 model, the tint is not bad. I would definitely buy it for gifts.
To clarify - I had...actually still have, gathering dust, an R3-N3 Q5 (2 mode from shiningbeam) as my main light for 2 years. Great build quality (seems better than my 4sevens...), and fine durability. Took it into the ocean & all the stuff one isn't suppose to do without care - which I didn't give, and it was fine.
That said - new version/emitter...how much brighter? How is it on alkalines? Because if giving it as a gift to the average person...probably don't have rechargeable...and probably aren't up for purchasing some for their flashlight.
