Sofirn C8F host. 21700 C8F Available

The side switch only illuminated when the light is powered on I think. The sure thing that it is red and green for battery indicator and the light has LVP.

Dual Switch.
You gotta be kidding me

I don’t understand, why a dual switch is to be preferred to a only-side switch-light. You always have to switch the light in your hand if you want to make it on or off or change the modes.
I just don’t get it and I never will.
The Convoy L6 - fantastic light that get’s raped by the tailswitch.
Sofirn C8F - Only Side-Switch - a fantastic light and perfect experience.

I prefered single side switch but most people here voted dual and also sofirn wanted it dual. So it is nothing to do with it. I try to convince them as an option or separately buyable tailcap without switch. We will see…

I’m literally just quoting his thread i’m not trying to make it seem like anything. The fact is you are being nit picky even though you don’t want to sound like it. You nit picked my general use of the word high powered for no good reason which is what started this side topic. Then, you posted some questionable info to which a few people corrected you and you chose to name me specifically in your reply. PM me if there is something I did to slight you and we can discuss I dont want any hard feelings over something so insignificant.

I think dual switch vs. single side switch debate is nothing more than personal preference & opinions. It is not a right or wrong thing.
It just is what it is…. nothing more than what one prefers.
Each has advantages & disadvantages…. nothing to cry about either way.

If you want a true tac-light with a forward-clicky switch for momentary-on, flash’n’dash, then a dual-switch is awesome. You can turn it on, off, flash, blink, a brazillion times, as fast as you want, and not have to worry about changing modes at a most inopportune time.

For an EDC, it’s usually extraneous.

That’s a very good point. I wonder if this is forward or reverse clicky.

The reason you don’t understand is because you don’t understand. Lol

On this light the tail switch is merely a manual lock out. It doesn’t turn the light on or off. All light controls, on/off-levels, etc…, are done through side switch. It’s not like the L6 function. No worries mate! :+1:

It’s really a question of whether you want to have a manual lockout with a switch or by turning the tail cap. Tail cap anodization will eventually wear through. The switch should last longer, plus can be replaced. Maybe replacement tail caps can be bought later if the anodization wears through? I don’t know. I just like flipping a switch to manually lock out. It’s probably not that big a deal, both ways work.

We are seeing things very differently. I don’t think I posted anything questionable. Nor did anyone correct me. Perhaps they didn’t understand my original point? I have no emotions about it one way or the other.

I’m sorry if you felt personally attacked. I try to share data, not get personal with anyone. I will try to communicate my thoughts better. Thanks.

I only know the Nitefox UT20 and Sofirn SP32A which are FC-tail + side.

Zanflare F1 and similar are all RC tails.

The SP32A is side E-switch only. You mean SP31.

BTW Sofirn came up with the SP32A 2.0 version with temperature regulated modes and also 3 minute turbo timer. Revised firmware and battery level indicator in the side switch. And it has two new color option.
Today they sent me a sample for test and make a review.

It’s a moot point (unless you plan to swap drivers).

It’s probably Sofirns existing C8 tail cap which I think is reverse clicky.

Doh! Yeah, that’s it. But then I don’t think that’s FC.

Maybe the TK18? Something new I got very recently…

Think if I ever have kids, I’ll just name them George, George, George, and George. Less confusion that way…

Insanely fresh info about tailcap switch:
Just read my message from Sofirn
The tail switch will be forward clicky. If the light is on, you can press and hold the side switch to stand-by mode or click the tail switch to cut off. If you need lockout, press tail switch.

Sweet! I once suggested to Sofirn to consider clear anodizing / silver versions. I wonder if that had any influence on this light. Looking forward to your review!

I agree that a dual switch is quite the pain in the ass. I mean for just around the house or garden type work I know them to be just fine. For my pocket light I prefer a forward tail clicky. Three modes, with memory, and I am a happy camper. I know I will probably be hung up and shot but that’s okay. I just prefer it that way. I still have tons of different lights and use them often but, when I head out with only one flashlight on me. It’s a 3 mode froward tail clicky with no blinky’s in my way.

Shine on my friends. BTW, I love the C8F and am looking forward to the new one. Side switch, tail switch, or dual switch, I could care less. Sofirn knocked it out of the park when they came up with this light and I will buy as many as the wife will allow when the new one comes out. As long as it’s not 3000k with some abstract emitter at 98.35478CRI.

I ordered the SP32A v2 earlier. I debated whether to order another C8F host with it. I decided against it to wait for the 21700 version. It sounds like it will be a bit of a wait, still.

Zozzv6. Any word on whether they’ll be using the same reflector, or at least the same emitter spacing?

Is the V2 ready for order now? I checked last week and it wasn’t listed yet. I shall check again.

Yes you can order now SP32A 2.0.
It is available since yesterday.

Sofirn is bot an old vrand so they are not a very big factory. Please be patient. Just see a BLF project. It will be happen faster  No word on emitter spacing but I will ask. I think it is the same.
