I know these Ultrafire 18650 4000mAh (black/gold) have an over stated capacity.
But I can get them for $1.50 each and if they will at least do 2000mAh, then the price is very fair for the capacity.
So far with winning eBay bids, I’m getting 6 of these 18650/4000mAh for $9.98.
You would be getting ripped off at half the price. I have just bought 2 Panasonic PFs for that price. There maybe less cells but I get to keep my house.
Buying junk batteries is a point where cheapness reaches dangerous levels.
There is more than enough information out there that should keep everyone away from them, if you know better and still decide to buy junk, don’t blame it on anyone but yourself if something happens to you, your house, your family, whomever.
I wouldn’t risk setting my house on fire for 20$ of “savings”, same applies to junk power supplies and electronics.
Keep in mind that even if, say you’ll get lucky, and the wrap contains a recycled brand battery from a junk notebook batterypack and not the leftover fireworks from new years eve. They won’t deliver any reasoneble capacity at “high” power and will age in a hurry so they’d be dead in a couple of months.
A new brandname cell will last you a couple of years with an order of magnitude better performance. Therefore they’ll come a lot cheaper at the end.
Just my two cents, everybody may feel free to c&p if new threads pop up.
I got good one, get your next tyres from the local tire dump, they obviously won’t have full capacity, could have unseen damage, but that’s then easily hidden with a fancy label, but for what they cost they will probably still have maybe half their original capacity in them if you don’t mind taking a gamble to save a $
I think the general consensus here is to not get UltraFire™. Most if not all are UltraFake™ and will most likely result in a HouseFire™.
IIRC from past posts you live in the vicinity of Illumination Supply for a warehouse pickup (as do I), just get some cells there! $12 for two Samsung INR18650-25Rs or $10 for two ICR18650-26Fs is a very hard price to beat.
The reality is you can pick up a couple of quality Sanyo cells at Banggood for around $8 when on sale. If you use them like me and charge them once every couple of weeks they will last forever. Anyone who strips laptop packs will tell you this. Most use Sanyo cells and out of all the packs I have stripped you will find maybe 2 cells that are finished and the rest will still have around 75/80% capacity. Now when you think how badly abused laptop battery packs can be, always charging whilst sat on peoples beds and sofas over heating, it is amazing how good some of the cells are. Then you go back to Ultrafire and you just don’t know what is in them or how long they will last.
And of course a Sanyo will give a lot more amps than an Ultrafire.
