Ultrafire UF-T70 Group Buy Feeler Thread

Yeah, those are great photos. Since it has what appears to be the same reflector as the Dry, it produces a nice flood with very decent throw. I'd be very happy with that. Thanks.

The reflector on the T70 cannot be the same one as on the DRY. The Dry's head is 55mm the same as the Skyray present in the review. See how big is the T70 reflector compared to the Skyray's refelctor. Plus the specified diameter for the head is 65mm.

Yes, you are correct. Looks like I missed that fact. I can't wait for my T70 to arrive and run it through its paces.

Just received the T70 and it is one hell of a light! The lockout mode is the best thing IMO about this light so you wont accidentally change modes.

Rather weighty but thats great for thermal cooling.

Deep reflectors. I think this is similar to the Jetbeam RRT3.

I am still waiting for batts so i havent tried it yet. Well, i have tried it with 3 18650s but they arent balanced so i wont risk it any further.

the batt carrier seems pretty robust. dont have the DRY so i cant compare it.

You wont regret buying this light, trust me.

But isn't the reflector of the J12 bigger?

I know I'm late with my response but I've been thinking in the past days about your post and think you might have mixed something up. As far as I'm informed the J12 is a great thrower, while from the UF-T70 I'd expect it to be a flooder.

J12 has shallow reflectors compared to the T70. so i still stand by what i said unless some lux measurements prove me wrong :)

Bobdammit! I just ordered my first high-output lights and both are nearly at the doorstep already and I think I made a mistake with the TR-J12. It's because I wanted a strong thrower (thought J12) and a flooder (the DRY). I didn't like the lenght of the J12 from the beginning so Ultrafire might be better as far as it seems. Might have to sell the J12 then to get the UF-T70.

xed8888, buy a lux meter, it's just 20 over bucks. Then we'll all know...

I wouldn't mind purchasing a light meter, but which budget meter do most in this forum have so we're all on the same page?

Richie, can get this. This is pretty close to Selfbuilt figures as well...it might under read by about 10% but from what i see it's pretty consistent.

There are some higher priced ones on Ebay from brands like Mastech/TES. Do a search here for some ideas : http://www.aliexpress.com/store/100653/200738280/Digital-Light-Lux-Meters.html

Since you are in USA, do some search on Extech they are pretty popular over at CPF : http://www.globaltestsupply.com/c/116/Extech_LT300_Light_Meter.html But they look like OEM rebranded meters from China (or might be the other way round). Anyway without calibration, all can work...so i guess the 30 bucks ones are great for our use.

just to confirm, the UF has a much tighter and brighter hotspot than the J12.

Thanks 2100...I'll place an order for this one.

Wow. I haven't heard that since college.

May the slack be with you.

Well if anyone needs a brandnew J12 let me know! Can be picked up in Los Angeles next week any time.
