Your best favourite Budget Light under 5 bucks :)

Often if buy cheap, buy twice  I have never had any experience with low budget light.

Post links for the OP flashlight and the blender survivor, or at least names! What are those lights?

Here are the lights, (The one i listed as my best under $5 light, and the same model as the one that survived the Blender test by TheLastKatun. > > http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Black-Mini-3W-LED-Clip-Lamp-Clamp-Police-Flashlight-/360388845248?pt=US_Flashlights&hash=item53e8d95ec0

Thanks

Your welcome.
I already been playing with modding this little low-cost light, and one i swapped a Luxeon Rebel NW into it, and really brightened it up. Next i am modding a 3-mode driver and a Cool white XP-G emitter in another. :stuck_out_tongue:

MXDL

Love lights $5 and under! They have the gold member version and a black one!

The Rayovac Indestructible when you can catch them on Black Friday or their sale. I scored 4 for $3.99 each I think it was. I got the Camo two CR123 models.

The $3.50 ebay zoomie (looks like the MXDL-type several people here have posted).
There’s a thread about it somewhere. Quite decent, once you file down the jagged sharp edges on the bezel.

Ordered 7 August arrived 24 August with free NL tracked shipping! Bubble wrapped, then inserted in sealed bubble lined envelope inside a strong corrugated shipping carton; I wish all my torches were shipped like this!

Available at this price for the next 8 days.

I saw this at dd4 when I bought the Nitecore I4 charger that is on offer and bought it on a whim.

I am pleasantly surprised at the quality of this torch. The barrel has nice knurling and a decent pocket clip. The smooth reflector gives good throw with a tight hot-spot and medium spill. Reliable side clicky switch. Modes are high, low, strobe then off.

I ran it on high for 20 minutes and head and barrel reached 35 Celsius. There is a recharging port with a rubber stopper opposite the switch but I think I will be using my I4 charger.

All in all a good purchase and will be stashed as a back up.

By the way the dd4 customer service is excellent and on two previous purchases with problems they have acted swiftly and offered fair solutions.

It is an interesting flashlight. Do you know which LED is it using? The webpage just says CREE XM-L LED but no further description. How bright is it compares to other similar ones?

The LED looks too small to be an XM-L. It’s more like the XPG in the UltraFire AT - 008 and is similar in brightness, probably around 350-400 lumens.

some cretin stole my trusty priceangels 3W I used on my bike, the one time I forgot to take it with me. what is the equivalent nowadays? It should love me looong time on one AA, cost under 5$, and not be a zoomie.
