I paid it on February 22nd and received it on February 28th. This has been very fast!
Right now I don’t have the flashlight in which I want to use it (Convoy M2) and I don’t have the time either. But this DC-FIX looks great. I really want to try it and I’m sure it will work very well.
Thank you very much Boaz for your product, your help and the advice.
Just sent PM for 2 sheets of DC Fix, I have 1 light in particular I wanted to use it on, I think I messed up the emitter (5700k nichia 219c) while reflowing and there’s a ton of rings and a tiny dark area in the middle of the hot spot. Normally I wouldn’t get too worked up over some artifacts but this one makes the light look cheap. Hopefully this fixes it
It was about 3 feet for a Lumintop ED25 (2xAA) with 219c 5700k. I’d probably do a 4k or 5k next time as it was too close to the original stock xpl emitter and less output. The DC Fix definitely helped with the multiple rings and tint shift but it was also a bit floodier.
Here are a couple before and after shots. Stock Convoy S2+ 3B tint, 16-18" from white wall. Sorry if my photog prowess is not too good but it shows the difference. Much improved beam for my use.
Before DC-Fix
After DC-Fix
The photos don't really do justice to the expanded spill area the film gives the light. Great stuff!
I bought 3 sheets of this from Boaz. He must have raced to the post office because I Paypaled him on Saturday and received it on Monday. It looks to be the real deal too. Thanks for providing this service Boaz.
As well as a thicker / harder diffuser material (about the thickness of a playing card ).
I also have a film that spreads the beam horizontally that would make for an interesting bike light beam
….
Lets see if we can get a few members who have integrating spheres or light boxes to do some real world testing on 3 or 4 different materials.
It might be interesting to see how close different peoples measurements with various spheres will be … When we get some real numbers I’ll post some beamshots and start putting up some of the other diffusion materials for sale …
Anyone interested in doing some testing …send me a P.M.
Boaz, did you ever get anyone to test those ‘other’ diffusion materials? I’m wondering if/when those will be for sale. I don’t have a light box, or I’d be happy to do some testing for you. :innocent:
All those gifts and packages must have really slowed down the mail .first class mail usually takes a day or two for only a couple hundred miles .
thanks for the reply let me know what you think
