TK's Emisar D4 review

I received the xp-g2 5d2 4000k and a Nichia 219c 5000k. I much prefer the xp-g2 5d2 over the 219c. The 219c gets hotter and steps down way faster and bigger steps than the xp-g2. The small gain in brightness isnā€™t worth the added heat in my opinion. The tint of the xp-g2 isnā€™t pure white but it is below the black body line with a slight rosy hue which I love, especially with night adjusted eyes. I liked the 5d2 tint so much I ordered 3 more quad boards. One to swap out the 219cā€™s in my green emisar and two more to play with in other lights.

Just got my xpg2 3d today. Love this little green hulk.

Found I had to set the temperature higher on mine as I like to hover between 600 to 1000 lumens and thermal management was dropping me below 600 lumens after just a short time of use.

Now with it adjusted I am very happy with this purchase.

Does anyone know if the offset optic fits this light without any modification.

If so could you please attach a link so I know what optic to purchase.

Do you mean the offset star? Thatā€™s a replacement star for the LEDs to sit on where each LED is rotated at a different angle so the corona is much more even and not square.

The offset star replaces the stock star. They use the same optic.

You can buy the offset star at Mountain Electronics

OK got you. Thanks for the direction. Is this the one?

Is there a clip that works with this light? About to order two of them
I want to be able to strap it to my hat with the 18350 tube. Also will the s4 3D be a good choice?

Yes, thatā€™s the one. Youā€™ll also need a soldering iron and basic soldering skills.

Anodized D1 and D1Sā€¦. will be nice colours like green or only dark?

Here you can find macro pictures of this FL:

You can find more pictures on above link.

Kind regards

Cool pics gregor

I like my D4 on the rocksā€¦ā€¦ā€¦ā€¦ā€¦.

Did you have measured the lumens with stock LEDs and 319AT?

I have a spare Noctigon Board and want to use dedomed XP-L2 or 319AT Emitters. Now I have 219C.

Ordered 2!

I would love to see some beamshots of the 319AT as well. Hint hint

Lost lumens going to the 319 but the color is a soft eggshell white and profile is nice, I think itā€™s worth the loss as the amperage went down as well.

No lights on, blinds closed so itā€™s pretty dark in the roomā€¦. you can see behind the elk on the clock that thereā€™s a discoloration in the center of the hot spotā€¦

This rather awkward shot at the 1ā€™ square white ceiling tiles (styrofoam, pure white) shows the dark center and some oddity to the colorā€™s in the peripheralā€¦ all in all not bad but too similar to the XP-G3 for my tastes.

Sorry, these are on my new iPhone SE, too crippled up to use a real camera and get down on the ground for the ceiling shots.

Might have to dig around and come up with 4 XP-G2 for this oneā€¦

Someone posted a pic or maybe it was a link, of a nice holster for the d4, canā€™t seem to find it in this massive threadā€¦ It had orangeish stitching and a nice texture material.

Anyone know what holster Iā€™m talking aboutā€¦?

I think it was a manker holster

Thanks for the reply Geuzzz, but nope, Manker holster doesnā€™t have all the orangish stitching. Thought I saved its link somewhere, but canā€™t find it for the life of me, beautiful holster it wasā€¦.

Ok, so now my D4 is equipped with the XP-G2ā€™s that I removed from my DQG x7 XP-G2 light. Theyā€™re a bit on the warm side, not bad, slightly more so than the 319ā€™s.

Edit: Bangood doesnā€™t stipulate further than NW, so these are probably in the 4000K range tint wise, pretty warm for me.

Iā€™m guessing it was the Convoy holster. Iā€™ve got a couple, they fit my S2+ and various other 18650 tube lights.
