Today I received my Imalent.
It doesn’t turn on.
I plugged the charger in but the LCD doesn’t light up, which it apparently should when loading.
Have you removed the plastic transparent disc between the battery tube and the head?

It doesn’t work either now though.
With the plastic the light flashed fast for few seconds when turned on, now it doesn’t.
A friend of mine just received his DX80 and even though it had the black plug, the charger died.
So that charger issue is still not resolved.
Can you measure battery voltage from the center of the pack to the tube?
Light turns on now but oled screen never turns on.
I have no tools for measuring.
does the OLED screed turn on when the light is on?
If it does, but NOT when you charge it, the charger is dead.
If it NEVER turns on then that is a more serious problem.
It display never turns on and to be honest, i don’t think the light is that bright lol.
Too bad you don’t have a voltmeter.
I suppose it could be the battery is drained and the charger is shot. Knowing the sitting voltage of the pack would be good right now.

Yes it could be just the display and everything else works fine, even the charger. That’s why it would be so useful to have a voltmeter.
Maybe a friend has one?
I don’t know anyone who has one.
Where did you get the light? Contact DOA ASAP I’d say. Even if you have a Voltmeter, you’r probably not going to fix it anyway.
Solar charging the DX80
So i grabbed a couple of these GBTiger 40w panels for about $60 during the 11.11 sales on Ali. They were for another project, but I noticed that they put out 19volts (the same as the DX80 Charger) It came with a connector that fit in the charge point of the 80 and I carefully plugged it in. It was full sun and the torch started to charge as if it was on the mains.
I shaded the panel with my hand and the display started to flash while it was still charging (i assume it is a low voltage warning) and didnt stop until the panel was disconnected and then reconnected, then went back to normal.
Another time, I put the panel on the dash and drove on a sunny day for 3 hours. Going under clouds and trees though out the trip. The torch would either charge, flash and charge or disconnect and restart when the power was all gone and came back again.
The best option is to find a sunny 3-4 hour window to stop the torch from charging on and off and then you can capture the sun for use later that night. Here is a photo of the panel directly powering the torch.
Hey that’s pretty sweet man! I’m not familiar with solar panels, but would it make sense if it had a standardised USB output instead of 19V? Now it’s convenient because of the DX80, but generally 19V is less compatible or not?
It has a USB outlet as well. But to be honest unless your away from power for more then a week or carry lots of usb items, solar panels for usb charging is bit of false economy. You can carry about 10 18650’s for the same weight as a 15w solar panel and they can charge 24 hours a day sun or no sun. They are more just a bit of fun. I like this 40w one as it folds down to a satchel and fits in the glove box, but still has usable output (more then just 5v)
I will step down the 19v to 12v using Mppt to power a small camp fridge, this set up will only work on the right days.
^ It’s always good to have a solar panel just in case. I think it’s also a very satisfying feeling to obtain power from just the sun.
I never had the experience but it seems like you may have a defective unit. If the OLED screen will not light up, no matter what, then inform Shellen at sales@imalent.com; if contacting the seller is not possible. I’m sorry, getting a defective unit is awful. I have always had good response from Shellen at sales@imalent.com; I suggest contacting her if contacting the seller is not possible.
Forget about voltmeter or anything like that. Contact Shellen at sales@imalent.com and she will help you obtain a replacement unit for the defective one. Please note my prior post. Thank you, and I am very sorry for your trouble. I am confident that Shellen at Imalent can help obtain a replacement delivered to your door. It’s not supposed to be dim, either. The refined, perfected Imalent DX80 are 32,000 lumens with enough beam intensity to shut off the street light across the street when I am standing in my backyard. It is comparable to SkyLumen’s X65vn Solis which is 35,000 lumens and 365k lux. Sorry my friend. Please email Shellen and I am sure she can help you.

Only the Oled display is not working now, the light seems bright now though after charging, so it seems only the display has issues.
