Most who were worried about shipping schedule were not because they had not yet received their light. It has been about people getting upset when someone else got shipped first, unfairly or not. And it’s nothing to take seriously, really. Just keeps adding useless posts to the GT thread. This message included.
I believe almost everyone agrees after thinking for a while: Quality control is important. Rushing a project like this is dumb. Even those who don’t seem too patient will prefer quality to speed.
I put Neals “paid/shipping lists” back on post one. I think they are only semi helpful due to not being complete and outdated, but if it helps anyone, it’s there.
It seems quite a few of the packages are being sent without tracking notices sent (from DHL). I’m not sure why. If you’ve paid for your light, but haven’t got a tracking notification from DHL, it’s quite easy to call them at 800-CALL-DHL or 800-225-5345. If your outside of the USA there might be a different phone number. Just go to their website and click the link for customer service. Call them up and ask for a representative. Then just give them your name and zip code (or whatever represents your country). I tried it just for giggles. It was quite easy and the operator was very nice.
I don’t know if registered mail can be checked. I’m sure it wouldn’t hurt to check with your local mail service.
Or you can just be surprised when it arrives. That’s pretty cool, too.
Even though Neal couldn’t ship by the exact order of those that paid or of those that signed up, he is still doing his best to use the order that was paid. These recent international shipments seem to be for people on the early side of the paid list as evidenced below. (These are paid list numbers)
I have been waiting patiently since the very beginning of this thread. I was the 34th or so on the first list. IIRC it was the end of October 2016, well over a year ago. I do not mind waiting a month or two longer as long as the flashlight is properly manufactured and no corners are cut.
If anyone from Lumintop ever reads this post, please do not rush it now at the most important stage, take your time and do your best, there is no need to hurry things up. Simply ignore everyone who wants it now at the cost of the quality!!!
Maybe I am wrong, but it seems to me that large GBs, such as this one and Q8 GB, create a bad mood on this awesome forum. Yes, we get mind-blowing, virtually perfect flashlights at incredible prices, but it is at the cost of what has made such achievements possible, our unique spirit, mutual respect and BLF family. We are losing the friendly, almost familiar atmosphere, with too many new users, who have not been included in the early phases of the projects, wanting their flashlight and demanding it as if they have already paid the full retail price and the full shipping. I love watching new guys getting addicted to flashlights, but the community behavior has switched from a friendly forum to a bunch of people who feel being entitled to something. What bothers me the most is a lack of respect and gratitude to those behind these large group buys. Instead of being supported and offered help, they are overburdened with the same repeating questions and complaints again and again all day long. I highly admire their passion and enthusiasm for the whole project, but if the general attitude does not change, they will end up burned out and put off, and we risk there will not be a GB of the GT or Q8 magnitude any time soon or ever again.
These soft lens caps that for the gt , they may not protect the glass if dropped lens first or bashed lens first against something , so I was thinking maybe a round disc cut from 3mm or 6mm plywood put inside the soft cap might be a good idea ( cut to the same width as the outside of bezel ) wadya think?
Hi can anybody help me ?
Contacted Team Giggles on 8 Jan 2018 about my request for a 3.GT + batteries which did not show on the final list.
Got a fast reply same day asking for the links of all my requests. After I spend 4 hours last night searching for same,
I am totally new at this game, still learning and today writing a long letter trying to reply to their question,
a message came up that they don’t take any messages anymore.
Can anybody pass on my message to the Team Giggles that I requested a 3.GT + batteries
( ID 1229241 ammofox Search Within Thread Author ammofox ) and ask them to get back to me in a way that I can reply to.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Regards ammofox
PS: I don’t know how to contact how to contact JasonWW or Texas_Ace directly ( totall amateur as stated before ).
Every reflector with look like that with just the right lighting. My reflectors look excellent but if you get the light angle just right they will look like that also. Your reflector is just fine.
Your’e exactly right mine looks really smooth looking at it but i you get the light just right you can see some lines. I measured 1.2 mcd at 15 meters so it doesn’t really matter the thing is a monster thrower.
It can't hurt. The biggest reason I wanted one was just to keep dirt and dust off it but I have been thinking about something similar to give added protection. If you use any kind of wood I would recommend painting or sealing it to get rid of the dust from it.
Post #5 has a new completed list of all the sign up requests.
You are shown as requests #1215, #1216 and #1762.
This list is not showing whether or not you want batteries, though. Anyone wanting a set of 8 batteries can easily add them to their shopping cart at the same time as they order their GT.
For those curious about the best way to remove the switch cover, a pair of snap ring pliers is your best friend. I have a set with multiple tips that can apply force in both directions. This style of plier (the blue one) can both squeeze together or squeeze apart.
