So you have a decent water tight watch with a nice contrasting bezel and you want to risk all of this just for a slightly different look. I would reconsider this in your shoes.
Bead blasting looks nice. Here’s my bead blasted Seiko 5:
My Braun BN0106 that I got from Amazon UK for £112. Battery was flat so I got them to knock off 15% (£16.80….) then bought five new cells for £1.50 and fitted one myself in ten minutes……
It’s a gorgeous display mate - really smooth digits. A lovely blue backlight if you need it at night, although to be honest the negative display is really very legible even in pretty low light. These often retail for silly money - certainly several hundred pounds - and I’d admired their retro simplicity ever since I got into watches I suppose. So when I saw this offer it was just too good to miss. Plus I had an Amazon voucher which was burning a hole in my pocket anyway. All in all I am utterly chuffed, it looks really cool and the strap is really industrial and spartan. I love it.
Just had the quickest of peeks at Hamilton’s history.
Very interesting to see the company was founded in Lancaster, PA - my eldest daughter has managed to get into Bryn Mawr College a mere fifty miles or so from there and is just back at home in the UK sitting next to me having completed (and thoroughly enjoyed) her first semester.
