Thanks Paul Smile It looks even nicer in person. Unfortunately, you can’t see the domed sapphire crystal in the picture which gives it a little extra class.

my dream watch

—ventura loga!—-

but, $3500, too much!
so, it’s just this:

on the plus side, solar, radio control, stopwatch, calendar, alarms!

Got the new leather band for my Hamilton. It’s thick and should last a long long time. I’m going to order one in gray as well. You can’t beat it for $17.99 delivered from a USA seller.

Here’s a link

Lovely Glenn.

I like a nice sturdy leather strap (that sounds rude)…
I’ve got a Maranez Rawai 45 which comes with dark and tan leather straps, each of which is ridiculously thick…. Like 5-6mm. I love them!!!!

Paul, it is very sturdy. It comes with stainless steel inserts where the pins go through to prevent wear. the buckle is also thick stainless steel.
Just measuered the thickness of my new band. It’s 4.45mm

Thanks Paul! BTW, I love your avatar. I’m a huge fan of the original Predator! I liked the others as well, but they pale in comparison to the original.

My friend’s planning to gift a watch, and was wondering how metal bands go along with hairy wrists.

I would imagine that it would be a hair puller. I’m lucky, I have very little hair in my arms. My head and chest are another story Smile lol!

Just dont get the shark mesh kind LOL or the milanese mesh. Those really pull the hairs.( even if short or v little hair) The one im using posted above is okai as so car i havent had any hair pulled considering i dont have hairy arms.

In my experience it really depends on the particular bracelet, not the style, i’ve had milanese and all sorts of metal bracelet and hardly experienced pulled hairs if ever, but i remember a cheap quartz seiko with metal links bracelet that was absolutely horrible, like torture.

steel bracelets do not have to pinch arm hair. but i don’t know how to predict which ones might do it, either.

leather bands get smelly, are slow to put on and remove, and that process eventually wears out the one hole you use all the time.

rubber and synthetics can be sweaty, and also develop rot over time – whether you wear them or not.

my pet peeve is – proprietary designs that lego into the watch body expensively.. exact replacements are expensive, and cheap watches just do not have replacement bands available. usually these are molded plastic.

A new bracelet for my old reliable, cream-colored dial Explorer II. . I was surprised the bracelet costs this much now. ($1100!) The original bracelet so used it was already ‘snaky’ and broke one of its pins.

Yes, and the company takes away my old bracelet too as a matter of policy!
