I does work with the Mini C8 tube from Jax but I would not recommend it because the threads are shorter :
The machining and fit and finish is excellent :
The heat sinking is great, it’s cold and windy in Denmark these days, but I used it 10 minutes on high with a fresh VTC5A walking the dog without it stepping down.
We have a saying in Denmark that translates to something like : “More special than pretty” I think that describes the design very well, but I like it .
The tube with the best fit I think is the Sofirn, maybe I will strip the ano of the tube and tail cap, and bead blast it for a more uniform look
Very unique product thanks for making it avaible, it is by far the most “special” in my collection.
Edit :
I haven’t tested the water tightness other than I used it to break the ice on my dogs water bowl and accidentally dropped it in, so at least in shallow water it’s waterproof.
Head side pcb should rotate together with tube. Driver backside should have same pads, negative contact trough sliding rings, for positive Ive add extra spring and brass button.
I have developed it to work with custom tail (extended legth) and reversed tube. It was wrong way so I stopped this project. I wanted to use tail spacer to make it rotatable:
I still dont know what way is right, the only thing I know - I cant look at this q8 drivers with 4 cell pads on backside. In my opinion this is too dangerous even for high experienced modders. Some members suggested another way, when backplate is fixed in stock postion while medium plate is hold by pins that allow free rotation but can be easily removed for cells change.
Once again, I dont know right way, this kit is true DIY, not plug-and-play.
Problem that I dont get any discount from Hank, so Im loosing some money for each sold board.
I have few Cute-3 in stock and supply quantity is 90pcs. I have to decide should I continue with cute-3 +XP32 combination for C8TT or I should float to the Cute-4+custom pcb.
Cute-3 price=Cute-4 price
Custom aluminium pcb should not cost more than XP32.
Also, I see another problem here. Many people start modding with my kits. I dont see reasonable supply bare boards without leds, those who can solder leds usualy have popular pcbs in their own stock. I have tried to supply nichias but moq is not realistic for me.
Led4power is interested in parallel boards to work with his drivers.
C8TT can work with linear drivers well, but it was developed for 20mm boost driver so I need 2s2p boards that have to be a custom order.
Got my S2+ pill and M2 quad spacer today. Everything was packed nicely and tracking was accurate. Waiting for some LED4Power parts to arrive before I can complete the quad build. Will follow up after it’s assembled.
