It is quartz. I’m personally tired of manual and autowinding watches poor accuracy to be honest. The Seiko I ordered has an accuracy of plus or minus 15 seconds a month, typically only a few seconds compared to plus or minus 15 seconds a day for mechanical watches. Not only that, it gets minimum 5 years of battery life.
I recently ordered my first automatic watch, will post pics when I get it
This is the best automatic+skeleton watch that I could find for less than $500.
Wanted something where I could see the moving parts, such as the flywheel, second hand, and rotor.
Apparently the movement is pretty good too for the price.
Would you mind providing links to these watchbands (Super Engineer II clone and the 6mm band)? I was looking at a Strapcode Super Oyster Curved End, but still on the fence on paying that much for a fairly budget minded SKX007.
Are there any HK direct bands similar to the Strapcode Super Oyster Curved End (#SS221803B019)?
I just ordered a real 22mm Super Engineer II from Amazon for my new Seiko. The fake ones are not nearly as good. I know because I bought one for one of my Timex’s. The clasp is thin and doesn’t clamp well. The band it’self isn’t bad, but uses push-in pins instead of screws. I already had to re-push a couple of them in after a couple of weeks. I ended up putting loctite on them. That said, you get what you pay for in most cases.
I bought it for my Amphibia and I didn’t want to double the value of the watch by the bracelet.
I had no problems with the pins but I had to bend the clasp slightly for a better fit.
Thanks Ven. I’m loving this new watch. It’s been 3 days since I received it and it hasn’t lost or gained a second so far. I’m sure it’s well within it’s 15 seconds a month spec
