Astrolux needs to hurry up!
They’d sell a bucket load of them, but they need to beat Acebeam to market.

I was asked from Neal 3 week ago if I can make a driver for it, he is in contact with Matemineco
The plan from my side is to go to 51mm 5 battery carrier in series to have enough voltage overhead to 12V max. 30A Output, so about 385W for the LEDs
This would mean 6V 7.5A per LED and roughly 6000 LED Lumens with P2 binning
Then the MCPCB 2 XHP70.2 6V in series so we have 4 groups of 2 LEDs at 12V
XHP35 also has full regulated output till the batteries are drained this way
I was just gived 50mm driver diameter, not much else to work on and Neal sendy me a prototype
Not sure if this will happen but I already spent aver 15 hours on this driver, getting my CFT-90 TN42/GT driver modified, which also took over 20 hours
Response over neal to Matemineco is slow and very few information
I hope I get a light prototype with my first prototype driver boards which I will order today
ATM the prototype is set for one Attiny84 or 2 Attiny 85s, MCU and firmware is so far not clear
Lexel, so you would like them to increase the battery tube diameter to hold 10 cells, 5S2P?
Then take the 21v to the buck driver to get steady, controlled output?
I like it. It’s a bold move to get a lot of output.
It will definitely be a light you want to carry with a sling over your shoulder. Lol
Man that is some cool stuff Lexel! :+1:

3 comes before 4
not always :(
my idea was placed and i was told it will be realised even before the MF02 :(
Interested.
On the form in the first post, do we just enter our email address?
To show our interest in one?
exactly ;)

Very interested!

Am I the only one concerned about the diameter of the battery tube? 4x18650 lights are the max I can semi-comfortably hold with medium sized hands.
We don’t know if it will be 4 cells or 5 cells in diameter. You may be fine, or might not. If this turns out to be a really big light we will need to use a carry strap or they might add a handle. We really don’t know much at this point.
Interested…. looking like it could be a $400-500 dollar light though! Would be curious what a group buy deal price for a light with that sorta MSRP ends up at here??
driver development is going well
there are a few hundred Watts to tame :D
