Hey lads i bought some Isopropyl Alcohol from eBay for a good price. I bought the one from Sydney solvents but they raised their price back up i paid $13.50 with the 10% site wide deal.
This is even better you get 5L for $10 with free shipping. Isopropyl alcohol is great for electronics and things like cleaning LEDs. I use it after dedoming an LED to clean the surface and after soldering to clean up flux.
I would just like to say G’day to all of you from sunny/rainy/windy Perth. I’m very new on this forum.
I don’t know of any current Aussie deals except for the 10 lumen, cree clone, plastic torch with the expired AA battery that I got at Bunnings for $4.00….
Life just doesn’t get any better!
And BLF is a great forum to be part of and good to see all of you here.
I broke my phone so i am back to using an older phone i dont know if its worth to do a review seeing as the camera is bad. Actually i have my action cam i can use but for a week i had no phone at all had to repair this one. Ill get the Xiaomi app thing for the cam.
Not sure who is able to ship Li-Ion to Australia these days. Seems the rules keep changing.
For a great local seller, contact Supersports600 on ebay. Yass has a solid reputation for quality and service. Some have complained about the price difference compared to the international sellers but you will get good backup if there are any issues.
If your torch doesn’t have on board charging, you will definitely need a charger.
There are many reviews for good chargers on the forum, but some are quite expensive.
The liitokala lii-202 (2 battery charger) is apparently quite good for less than AU$10.
I just about finished typing the info below when I realised the torch you want to buy takes 26650 batteries.
I can only speak about 18650 batteries from experience, but this might be helpful in case you end up with an 18650 torch one day.
Unless I’m mistaken I don’t think I’ve seen any 26650 batteries advertised in the big brand names.
My knowledge of 26650 batteries is zero, but there would be other people who would know and hopefully help you.
There are quite a lot of sellers of batteries on eBay who are based in Australia.
Some people say there are a lot of fake 18650 batteries out there, but I don’t know. If you’re not an expert it’s hard to tell a genuine from a fake unless you have the means to thoroughly test the battery. A lot of genuine batteries even have different wrappings and printing to each other.
Avoid unknown brands because a lot of them are rubbish and it’s not worth it to save a few dollars. Stick to major brands like Samsung, Sony, LG, Panasonic etc.
I bought 4 Panasonic 18650 batteries on eBay and they seem ok. I think they are genuine.
Most of my batteries are Samsung 30Q 18650 which are highly recommended by people on this forum. I have bought all of these (in packs of 4 batteries) on several orders from Banggood. They all work well and I think they are genuine. They ship to Australia - no problem.
I usually wait for a flash deal when they reduce the price. There is a shipping charge of just over $4, but if you buy 2 packs the shipping comes down to about 75 cents.
Good choices…
Good torch - good price - My first one was a Convoy C8 - I think they are almost the same.
You will be amazed at the light it can throw out.
I have a LiittoKala charger as well.
Keep Banggood in mind for future battery purchases, especially if you buy a pack of 4, they will be cheaper.
