I have PMed Cereal_killer, but also need to leave a message here to make it clear.
I dont ask any money and not ready to pay, I have 3 sets of wheels for BLF members. If you have an idea about other materials you will need, I will try to help with them too. The way you will build it doesnt matter (for example I dont have welder). Just make cool photos and video of the process and working machine.
Your C8TT triple heatsink head shows “$35 shipped”. Does that mean shipping is included? Another question: What diameter and height does the Copper spacer Ultrafire F13 have?
I thought about using the copper spacer for a triple or quad build with a Chinese flashlight. But if shipping is included with this head I might as well get a Convoy C8 with the nice option of swapping the heads then. The price is reasonable and I really like the design with very deep heatsinking grooves and the SS bezel.
Here’s my C8TT sucking down nearly 30amps like a champ. You guys need to go buy up all his stuff right now so I can convince him to make more cool things for me to play with.
contactcr that looks really cool. How’s the tint? Does it look below the BBL? Also I heard when you mix two different CCT too far apart in parallel, it can be a problem because their Vf might be very different.
Im guessing slightly under 5k. Ill try to compare to a known 4k and 5k tonight. I dont see any magenta or green so i can only guess it’s close. I have not ever seen either emitter by itself before this so im not sure of that either. First time using MZ.
As for vf hopefully since both are same CRI its close. Plus they can take much higher current in total so maybe that helps too?
I checked the color temp and the closest known one I have to it is a XPL HI U6-4C 4200-4500K so it must be closer to 4500K than I originally thought. This actually makes more sense because if the split was even it would be 4350K but I assume the 5700K contributes a bit more so round up to ~45K?
Knowing how particular you are about tint and stuff I would not pair de-domed LEDs with Cute 4 smooth spot. I ordered a medium spot replacement optic in the hopes that it will get rid of the donut in the middle.
CUTE-4 optics is unfortunately made only for ancient Cree XR-E led so tir holes are quite far away from pcb surface.Part of emitted light from undomed thin LEDs like MZ doens't hit tir hole (or hits at wrong angle), so there is some lumen loss. Luxeon V + Cute-4 works much better because LED is domed. Cute-3 works nice for all LEDs,including MZ.
Im sorry for delays, I know many members are waiting my parts, I rememember each quest and will make all parts Ive promised.
I can roughly estimate sequence of restock:
- copper pills single led S2+ (mtn boost driver compatible)
- custom parts from pm requests, including p60 single led and b158 pills, new design custom retaining rings
- triple pills and spacers for S2+ (probably next month).
Still need in reviewer of belt grinder parts, open for any help!

Okay, I vaguely remember your post asking if anybody wants to make a belt grinder. What is the actual deal? What are the requirements? If I can help, I will be glad to.

Now I’m in need of the full copper pill for the convoy S2+ and the heatsink for the convoy C8. Can you let me know a time frame that they will be ready by?
Triple pills for S2+ wont be available for at least one more month.
C8TT sets are in stock. Spacers for C8 mod will be available from led4power website soon (together with optics, pcbs, leds, drivers etc.) soon.
Here’s my C8TT sucking down nearly 30amps like a champ. You guys need to go buy up all his stuff right now so I can convince him to make more cool things for me to play with.
Following up on this. I ordered a CUTE-4 ~20° medium optic (C10447_CUTE-4-M) instead of the smooth spot ~12° and it got rid of my donut problem entirely. I imagine LED4Power still recommends CUTE3 for dedomed LEDs but this is good if you must have CUTE4. Definitely one of my favorite builds so far.

Are you making the spacers for the C8 mod? Is it going to be copper? Also more interested in a Sofirn C8F 21700 kit since with 6 LEDs, it makes more sense to go with 21700 batteries.
No, no and no.
For sure I will make any part if I see good demand.
But now all this custom 1-2-3pcs orders just cause problems. Sometimes I agree to make a custom part to satisfy a regular buyer, sometimes it causes big delays that is not good for anyone. CNC made parts – this is what I can provide as good deal. I dont worry about quality and metall stocks (just use full bar and forget about it), you enjoy quality/price ratio.
S2+ single pills are ready.
They have slightly non-standart design (I was not 100% satisfied with current design custom rings, have developed new version that required pill changes) with deeper retaining ring thread. New rings are not ready yet, but you can use them with regular convoy rings or previous custom rings. Havent checked yet but I suppose even convoy rings will allow using 2-side 7135 drivers.

Bypassed everything plus super low vf LED. Each emitter is 4 dies so basically 16 LED. And of course you must use the highest drain 18650s (vtc5a, 20s, 25s, etc)
Planning is a too big word…
I have a copper A01 BLF edition. It is “that dim light”. Dim, heavy, not my taste at all. But a hefty copper host….would make a fine hot rod.
I’m contemplating 2 builds.
One that is tempting but too impractical: XHP50.2 K2 3C + 2*10250 Nukes + QTC.
The other that I might actually attempt: LH351D + 10440 + QTC.
I’m pretty sure neither the 2× 10250 nor the 3× 10180 will fit. Unless you know something that I don’t.
EDIT: I wonder what it would be like if you put the OSRAM KW CSLNM1.TG “white flat” emitter in there. It’s a 3V emitter, and the current “throw king” according to the testing.

Yea I would assume since the 5700k is a higher bin. Wouldn’t be surprised if it is more like 4900k. But very nice. I might get one too to tint mix.

How far does the Ultrafire F13 spacer lift the MCPCB above the original emitter shelf?

kiriba-ru,
Well, I don’t think there will be enough interest to make it viable, but I’ll express mine anyway:
I’d like a nice pill for Astrolux A01.
What are you planning to do with the A01? I have one, so if it’s interesting, I might want to get a pill too.
