I have cut several of the smaller springs to make more room also, mainly in the SWM V11R. I cut the top as blue did.
Its not easy once cut to get a neat looking top but its very doable.
I usually bend the cut end down slightly and file the tip of the cut to get rid of any sharp edges.
Then squeeze the top loop slightly smaller than the next loop down. Works great, no complaints.
@DavidEF, I’m currently in the middle of a bind with another spring order, so won’t really be able to order the springs for our GB until next week.
Even then, I’m going to need the funds necessary to buy these springs. I’m currently doing a lot of important purchases(new university stuff, paying for the next trimester), so I’m being very careful with my primary funds.
I’m going to fully buy the springs with my hobby funds, and since I’m buying both of the large and small springs at once to save on shipping, it’s going to be a doozy in terms of costs.
Thanks for the update! Don’t stretch yourself too thin. I’m sure a lot of us would be okay paying in advance if need be. I’m not in a rush though, so do what you need to do.
Since I already have experience and trust in the manufacturer, getting the springs manufactured should be simple and easy, not nerve wracking like the 1st time.
