Andúril 2 coming to Sofirn - The general Sofirn development thread

im putting alot of faith on SP10S Andúril boost driver flashlight.

Even though lithium flashlights are dominating but still love AA flashlight for travel and everyday carry. If this project go ahead i will get atleast 5 pieces.

Congratulations Barry! Welcome to never sleeping again  It gets better, I promise.

What nm is the UV in the W30? It looks pretty damn good.

AFAIK, it's 395nm, so more or less the typical "blacklight" with a visible part of blue light.

Ah, damn. Although for that price point, 365nm would be a very big ask.

Reversible deep carry pocket clip would be cool too :+1:

Is 4000K version already sold out? Or will it be available later?

I didn’t even know this was a thing. I might get the 4000k if it shows up. My only experience with the 6500k SST-20 is miserable. Horrible green tint and super low CRI.

:o whaaaaat

Might just mod my existing ones, but any more I get will be sst20 when it’s avail in 4000k.

I have C8A driver that randomly starts flashing as if low voltage warning or something. Usually locking it out then back on resets it but it gets annoying . I know of a few posts about the same problem before. Short of removing the driver, is there a cure for this and has the problem been addressed in later ones?

My Sofirn headlamp just did that. I wonder if a battery swap might help. I haven’t had time to check though.

Oh as in the red LEDs? It’ll be to do with it thinking there’s a ton of resistance - reseat all the springs if possible, and try and feel for other spots that get hot where they shouldn’t. My SP40 did that when I installed a magnet cause I didn’t have the spring siting right; pushed it back in solidly and it was fine.

When is Sofirn going to start using those LH351Ds in more lights? I would but several models in a heartbeat if they used that or SST-20 4000K.

I’m dreaming about SST-20 4000K version of SP31A with direct access (by long press from off) to true firefly mode (3 or 4 lm) and direct access (by double click from any mode) to turbo.
Strobe could be hidden in next double click after turbo.

I love very first SP32’s runtimes. Especially 918hr in firefly mode. I don’t think sofirn has any other light that can run longer on firefly mode.

Did anyone test the 918 hour?

(Quick calculation: 3500mAh/918h=3.8mA. If the driver has no leaks, the MCU eats at least 2mA, so 1.8mA leftover for the led with which you can make 0.8 lumen max, not 3 )

New design, variable temperature color EDC flashlight.
2pcs LH351D 6000-6500K and 2pcs LH351D 2700K
TIR optics, Type C USB port and with indicator.
Very compact 16mm length only
Photo comparison to C8G.

Perfect for 4* SST20 high CRI 21700 version with Anduril (IMHO)

I’m gonna guess… that’s 106mm length? Not 160mm. But definitely not 16mm either
Cool. Good to see more USB-C, and I see the LT1 tint-mix theme is spreading. Mix it to 4000K-5000K and the average should be nice. It beats slicing dogfarts…

Sofirn in the house!

That looks like a winner right there.

Hello Barry,

Excuse me for coming (maybe) late, and asking a question:

Will the SP70 BLF version include better emitter choices, than the current non-BLF version SP70?

Nice! tint ramping? Probably, they directly applied the Lantern firmware I assume.
