Interested too in a BLF GB variant. I have the SP10S in Blue, and one of my favorite EDC AA/14500 lights. It works great with wither a 14500, AA Alkaline, or a NimH AA.

is this a nice light to buy if u dont have one that runs on 14500 and with the nice samsung emitter good buy ?

It’s a great light. I have the SP10B and SP10S and was going to do some comparison shots but haven’t got round to it yet. If they combined the UI of both of those lights it would be my favourite budget AA light.
There’s a raised “surround” encircling the button so I imagine it could be battery dependant for flat tops. Also depends if the surround has an electrical ennection or if it’s just the button.
There are some great ideas already but now it’s up to Sofirn’s engineering to develop a corresponding driver layout. Once the hardware is ready, Toykeeper may be able to start adapting Andúril to run with the new driver. The biggest challenge is to summarize the outcome of all these ideas in way that Sofirn’s engineering can work with it. Furthermore, we need to find a more effective way of direct communication with their engineers to discuss technical issues. The language barrier (English => Chinese => English) might be another obstacle we have to deal with.
A with many projects all over the world, effectiveness and efficiency depend on proper communication.

Sofirn SP10B and Sofirn SP10Av2.0 use the same XP-G2 (more focused/throwy). SP10B on Turbo is slightly brighter than SP10Av2.0 on Turbo mode.
If they built a solid, sturdy, bright light that could sustain its max output for a few minutes I’d be in.
I know using an existing host would be a lot easier to do things with, but wouldn’t it be wonderful to have a tiny 14500/AA FW1A?
Also, any updates? I’m interested with the Sofirn host as well!

I’m very interested! I have a couple of SP10s and they’re great little lights.

I’m interested … 14500/AA would be nice but I’d be in for one even if it ended up being 14500 only.
Interested.

I have the SP10S it’s my daytime EDC.
With the changes suggested I definitely want a few.
Now for a magnetic tail cap and/or rotatable head like the Nicron N7.

ok thanks, does the SP10S work on button tops or flat tops also?

It works on both button tops and flat tops, sins it hase springs on both sidesit hase a button in the head like hodor pointed out in the next post, so i dont think flat tops will work.
i could try when i get home if you would like.
Incorrect, the head does not have a spring. I only have button tops so can’t check if flat tops work.
you are right, the head doesnt have springs, i completly forgot
sorry about that, will correct my post

AA/Ni-MH compatibility, blue/ red ano with non-greenish emitter would be great too.
Umm, I want lumens but I want CRI too...
If it helps, I can do some translation.
