CRX CuTi R8runtimes:

Not too bad regulated output though no sign of LVP, the light just dimmed, cell removed at 2.7v.

CRX CuTi R8 Osram KW CSLPM1.TG 5400K - Convay·MK - 18350 - Rv Clicky Tail Sw - 1080lm.

So I thought I would try the variable SST-40 Convoy driver along with the Osram KW CSLPM1.TG 5400K emitter with this build.
I used an aluminium pill which was not the best choice with the thin titanium body, forgot about that.

The light was originally meant to just be plain titanium but it produced far too much heat as the convoy driver has no thermal monitoring, forgot about that too Big Smile
So I had to add some more mass to the light somehow and that took the form of eight copper rings which helps a bit.

The light can run hand held comfortably at 1.4A current which gives around 400lm.
Turbo can run for around a minute before it needs kicked down to prevent meltdown on a full cell but can go longer with some depletion later on.

Quite a nice simple driver.
The first two modes of the driver are current variable via a ramping system and the modes are accessed like this:

Mode 1 - Single click On.
Mode 2 - Single click On, Double half press
Mode 3 - Single click On, Triple half press

I have it set up like this at the moment:

Mode 1 - 405lm (1.4A)
Mode 2 - 1080lm (6A) - 30s - 920lm, 60s - 865lm
Mode 3 - 27lm (0.05A)

Lights are like children, once you've created them, you can name them whatever you want  LOL Thumbs Up

Gorgeous! I don’t think I’ve ever used that word to describe a light… I wonder how you keep coming up with these designs.

I just start off with a rough idea and see how it progresses while it’s coming together, like this one – turned out completely different to how I intended it to be because I didn’t factor in a few things.
It helps having lots of various bits & pieces that I’m always picking up and trying to match up to make stuff Big Smile
Getting short on nice drivers now though Innocent

Thanks. An Old Lumen method too.
Yeah it’s an option I like as I cant make threads. I could have installed stoppers and an o-ring for waterproofing too but decided not to, there’s an o-ring in the head.

I here ya! It’s moving forward…. been working rather intensively on then lately. The coding is rather quick, it’s the testing takes time. Had a few rather nasty bugs to weed out.

I think it's between 2B & 3A though the KD description has it at Cx = 0.32, Cy = 0.33, around 1D, very slight green tint to it.

Sorry for the crappy pic.

Another cool looking tail switch to compliment another awesome flashlight! I have files and hacksaws, but not the magic touch CRX has.

I’d rather use my flashlight around the house than turn on the lights.
