Adding it up it seems I’ve spend about $1600 to keep myself occupied during shut down (but the gains from BTC bring that total down to about $1270 already). Thank god I’m getting paid to not work lol. And now I find myself back at BLF looking at options for my next light purchases, smh!
Honestly, a freaking ton. My biggest mistake was making an account on Slickdeals 10+ years ago, as it will have you buy things you don’t need! lol!
I have an obsession with bluetooth speakers, the same way I do with flashlights. And can’t turn down a deal on one, even though I have an Aiwa Exos 9, which is far superior to anything under $500.
Luckily I’m still getting paid, so nothing has really changed as I have an essential job.
So I just spent R$820 on a new video card for my PC. I’m tired of only playing games from 2010 and before with a smooth framerate, barely anything newer than that plays at “better than slideshow” fps.
Yesterday I spent near $1000 on lenses and about $500 on a couple of other lights. This morning i brought a CRX light and that is going to be a long wait for that to arrive.
Make sure whatever you get starts easy and doesn’t use more fuel than needed. If the power is out, the gas stations will be closed. I have a 2000w Honda inverter-style generator. It just purrs when the load is low. And it revs hard when the microwave runs.
I’ve started a smallish solar back-up power system. Should be capable of running anything, even a welder, but for a limited time frame. Fridge and freezer should be no problem for longer term use.
I do NOT want to think about the total $. Wife and I are both still working though, hopefully that doesn’t change.
Yes sir! Got a great deal on it too, covid-19 had made it a buyers market (here atleast). Got new windows and some painting done and minor repairs made by the sellers all for under the asking price!
I’ve actually never been to Cali. I can’t imagine living somewhere where I can’t build a giant house in a great neighborhood for 700K. Prob wouldn’t get you much in a nice part of San Fran. I bet it’s beautiful out there though
