26650 Batteries

you need to read the post i linked, not just click on the first thing you see

I didn't buy the ones he linked.

I bought the ones techjunkie bought. he didn't provide a link. I used the ebay seller name.

here's the link

2nd cell tested 1350mah

edit: i also removed a wrapper, the cells are marked like the label. just really old, I guess...

There we go, I was the one not reading carefully this time.

I saw those too, when I first read the thread back then. I know I found the flaw, as well, back then:

Capacity: 2800mAh

To me it didn't look like a good spec at all, even for a new 26650 cell, let alone if it was old.

I hope it gets better with a few cycles.

Viktor

yes, kind of low original capacity, but not bad for IMR (if they actually met the rating)

the voltage doesn't sag much when starting 1A discharge (stays above 3.7 for quite awhile), but even so, they're not much use at ~1300mah

Ordered 2x26650 Trustfires from Manafont and 2x26650's and charger from 4Stevens. The 4Stevens charger appealed to me because it also comes with a cigarette lighter plug, so during a power failure I'll still be able to charge them using my solar array that has 12v cigarette lighter inputs, or I can charge them from my car.

I also ordered 2x26650 Trustfires from Manafont, not sure where I'll get a charger from yet. I have a WF-139 for my other batteries but I suppose it cannot be used for the 26550???

Hi Taz, I really don't think using the Wf-139 is a problem to recharge the 26650s, afterall, many use their Pila charger to charge them too. You'd have to use magnets connected to the 139's terminals, or create a couple of dummy 18650's and the magnets connected to the 26650's.

The thing is, it'll likely take quite a while to charge them. The 4Stevens charger can manually be set to output 500mA or 1000mA, which is another reason I purchased it. But the 4stevens is by no means the only solution for charging the 26650's. Hope this helps.

Using magnets is not a bad idea, I think I saw this setup somewhere, although I don't remember where. Does anyone have a quick guide on how to make them?

How much was the charger from 4Stevens? Do you have a link?

Taz, Here is the direct link to both items I purchased from them using coupon code, CPF8 I'm also a member of CPF, but I mainly like hanging on this forum much better. Also, if you look around the internet, there are other dealers that sell the 4Stevens items for slightly less money. But again, I used the coupon code for something like 8% off the total order.

Thanks Richie!

Solution for flat-top 26650

Little solder on + terminal.

That's a really neat trick. :)

Just got my two TF 26650s from DX. Took a while to get here, and they sent me the wrong items first. However, they made up for it and finally sent me the correct ones. I was in a spot with FIVE 26650 lights and only TWO Keygos 26650 cells. The Keygos cells work nice in my lights. However, after reading all the good reports here on the TF 26650, I placed an order with DX. Also, to back it up, I placed an order also with Manafont too..

Here are the ones from DX, and they look real real to me!!Wink

I put them in a light without even charging them, and they fired right up.. Happy camper.. Wink

i have just ordered from DX too lets see how good they are.

How long did delivery take?

Hey CehowardGS, Nice package you received there. Glad they finally got you the correct items. I just purchased the same cells from Manafont the other day. The planets must have been in perfect alignment because they were shipped out in less than 24hrs. Hopefully they'll get here in not to long.

Let us know how you like that charger, thanks.

This was a resend because they sent me the wrong ones at first.

I also got a pair of TF 26650s coming from Manafont too. Wasn't sure what DX was going to do, so I backed it with an order with Manafont.

On the charger, I have had that for a couple weeks now. Really good as far as I can tell. My protected Keygos 26650 fit right in there and the charger lets me know when it is finished too. Plus, it can charge any kind of rechargable battery. No 9 volts. It was $25 shipped..IMO, a good deal..

If you want a good charger for 26650 its charges at 1.5 amps so it will charger alot faster then other chargers that charger from 0.5. 0.65 and 1 amp check out this link.

Or this which gives a 2 amp setting

Two amp,s might be a bit much even for 26650, you might start loosing mAh i would not charge 18650,s at 2 amps not even my 3100's, but i see a lot of people buying 0.65 amp chargers for 26650's 15 plus hour charge time lolls.

You want to charge them as fast as you can but not shorten the life and not increase the IR of the batteries, 1.5 amps is as high as ill personal go for 26650,s and i normally balance charge my 26650 at 1 amp, or use the linked charger when my hobby charger is busy doing other things.
