Ooooh this has turned up to be interesting - I did think about adding more options, but though t it would be too much. Keep the ideas coming in here though hopefully now and again a flashlight manufacturer will look in!
The best flashlight is spoiled if one dislikes using it. So, I’d like to see more lights with a good UI.
Direct to moon, direct to turbo, moon and turbo not in regular mode set, low follows moon. Sounds like Olight. Even better is a MCR. And that’s my answer: I want to see all sorts of lights equipped with a MCR. The lesser the additional space used for it the better.
More GITD options. I’d like to see “faux trits”, tiny tubular LED’s installed like trits. Of course, it would mean a path through the body for the wiring but as long as it’s potted that should be fine. Mini LCD display. So many variations are out now. I think they should be able to come up with a better symbolic lexicon to minimize letters. Remove language from the equation, just numbers & symbols. Battery voltage, estimated mAh, temperature, setting indicators, charging indicators, low batt…
I like to carry minimal tools when in the arcade, but one thing I could use (and pondered on making) is a light with a decent screwdriver in the tail.
I did find a cheapie one somewhere I was gonna ‘frankenstein’ into one (the driver bit) but it went by the by lol, The bits were too small really - but I think a regular bit would fit in the middle.
Somewhere I saw a photo showing the smaller driver bit holder, fitting into a larger regular sized one below it.
I’ve been saying for a decade that I’d both personally enjoy and could use at work, a NC D11.2 using an 18650 and putting out 500 sustainable lumens of punchy” flood.
Not having that, I voted for Aux LEDs, mainly due to really enjoying them on the Emisar KR4 I’ve had for about a dozen days now. The Aux LEDs are not just pretty and enjoyable, I’m finding them practical as well.
I prefer a ‘regular’ no frills light. But it must be Hicri, with true IPX8 and works with button flat cell.
Unfortunately such lights are much more rare than frills light)
