I tried to find the Pink Panther theme that I was sure I had heard performed by Manfred Mann’s Earth Band also many years ago. No good result for now. I probably missed something then.
The Pink Panther by Henri Mancini - The Folsom Lake Symphony
Africa (Toto) - Oberstufenchor Cusanus Gymnasium
I would also like to be in this high school class…
Years ago (about 30) the first Bulgarian computer viruses were created. I was a young IT man then.
Two of them (viruses) I will not forget: 666 (The Number of the Beast) and Dark Avenger (and here).
Inspired by Iron Maiden and Manowar songs.
Most of their names were borrowed from the heavy metal culture of that time. This was written by the alleged author of 666 and gives a deeper idea of the first computer viruses in Bulgaria.
Iron Maiden - The Number Of The Beast
Manowar - Dark Avenger
The alleged author still works near my home.
At that time, our company had two VAX mainframes with their own water supply for cooling. And Novell, of course …
I had most of the iron maiden records in my collection, also saw them on the monsters of rock tour along with other big bands.
My last concert was Ozzy Osbourne in Copenhagen way back in the late 80ties.
I listened to a classic with Frank Zappa yesterday, or rather 2 of them, bobby brown and dont eat the yellow snow.
I regret i never saw a Jean Michel Jarre concert back in the old days, but back then i was stupid and much locked into heavy rock only
We also covered quite a few iron maiden tracks when we jammed our asses off in the youth centers music room, i have lost many many liters of sweat behind the drums there.
Okay seem like i am not exotic enough here, so allow me to drop a savage rose in your ears.
This Danish band as i recall have been putting out records before i was born in 1966, and they turned down a major US record deal as that would have meant they would have been sent to Vietnam to entertain the troops.
And Savage rose do not play wars.
Good thread. My favorite rock and pop is all 1960’s and 70’s. Lately, I’ve been listening to a lot of Mahavishnu Orchestra, Tower of Power, and The Soft Machine, speaking of that time period.
