Osram:
- Very intense and small hotspot. Lots of throw.
- Best choice of emitter for longer ranges.
- Pretty poor up close due to small size of hotspot and overall low lumens.
- Cool white tint - looks good at full power. Looks a bit greenish and ugly at lower power.
SST-20:
- Less intense beam. Less throw than Osram, with considerably wider beam.
- Good for close-medium range.
- Adequate for up close use, due to wider beam. But still inferior for close range compared larger emitters such as LH351D.
- Available in very high-CRI. Renders colors very well.
Ugly greenish tint at lower power settings. More green than Osram.

I believe in this light SST-20 won’t work well at medium range, only up close.

For raw impressive output, I’ve still yet to find anything better than XPL-HI for small triples. XPL-HI offers nearly as many lumens as LH351D, with much more intensity, neutral white color temperature, and excellent rosy tints. Also due to its higher forward voltage it tends to run cooler in these tiny hotrods than other LEDs like SST-20 or Nichia 219c.
If you want to impress your friends, XPL-HI tends to be the most impressive.
Unfortunately, XPL-HI does not come in high-CRI. My current EDC is a modified DQG Tiny 18650 IV running Anduril with three high-CRI Nichia 219C as emitters.
This setup is quite a bit lower output than XPL-HI, but I like the tint, color temperature and CRI.

I notice there were some questions about the length of the Vapcell H10.
I’ve ordered the Vapcell H10 a couple of month ago, both flat-top & button-top (unprotected), their measurements are as follows:
Vapcell H10 (flat & button-top unprotected)
Vapcell H10 flat-top @ 49.1mm:
Vapcell H10 button-top (unprotected) @ 51.4mm:
The caliper I’m using is not that high-quality, so maybe error could be +/- 0.1-0.2mm.
I’m interested.
Could you convince Neal / Lumintop to sell the 16mm triple mcpcb and triple optic alone?
I’m curious how hard flashling anduril 1 on this would be, I’m not a fan of anduril 2
That’s what Neals site has the measurements as when I bought some earlier

Yep…. make it a single emitter option, deep carry clip and offered by another/ a different vendor and I’m in! This would be my favorite 14500 EDC then!

So according to the measurements the button top batteries are 9/10ths of a mm over the stated maximum battery size I think that they will work. Right???

It’s possible but the tolerances on the FWXX series lights are so tight that it could damage the spring or the cell itself over time.

I’ll admit it’s intimidating at first but once you have the light and understand the flow it gets MUCH easier.
