Pricey? Sure. But this thing is a hunk of plastic, really really thick, which gives it good performance with high powered flashlights. It even has o-rings.
No offense but this is really cheap to produce with injection molding. And plastic material costs are inexpensive, too. For $ 20 you get a full flashlight like Sofirn SC31 Pro.
Great alternatives! :D :THUMBS-UP: Anyway, I just asked Fin17 if he can do something about the lampshade‘s price on Banggood. Maybe a group buy can do some extra magic to drop the price even lower than usual, IDK. Don‘t we all have at least one or two FW3A or FW21 Pro at home already? ;-)
Concerning the button cells, I vote for a nice 12S buck driver (12x CR2032 = 36V) with awesome constant current regulation. No need for too short tubes. ^:)
It doesn’t, now to be fair I haven’t tried disabling thermal throttling. No matter what level of brightness you set to light to, it will adjust down to around 100 lumen in the case of the SST20, I assume it must be one 7135 current regulator usually takes about 20-30 seconds to settle down to the 100 lumen. You can keep hitting turbo though if needed.
