I definitely use ML mode a lot on small lights…but I also hate memory mode. Decisions, decisions.
Thank you for looking into it. As far as chargers I’m using Olight Portable Universal Magnetic USB Charger and at 750mah charging it’s an all night affair.
jasontheguitarist:Back in march there was some talk about the 12 group firmware for the AA/14500 driver in the T2.
There was another thread here recently asking about disabling the memory on T2 driver, I don’t know if that’s possible but it’s further evidence that not everyone wants memory and that a programmable version would be great.
You said you were going to restart the plan to have this driver manufactured, is that still the plan?
Taking into account the cost and supply issues, the manufacturer does not plan to use higher-precision chips, and the 0.1% brightness mode will be removed.
The mode will be modified as follows:
- ——————-sub-option 1.1 (normal-flash 1 time) : tap the switch to select mode group 1 (1, 10, 35, 100, strobe, biking, battery-check)
- ——————-sub-option 1.2 (normal-flash 2 times) : tap the switch to select mode group 2 (1, 10, 35, 100)
- ——————-sub-option 1.3 (normal-flash 3 times) : tap the switch to select mode group 3 (100, 35, 10, 1)

- ——————-sub-option 1.5 (normal-flash 5 times) : tap the switch to select mode group 5 (1, 20, 100%)

- ——————-sub-option 1.9 (normal-flash 9 times) : tap the switch to select mode group 9 (50, 10, 1%)
- ——————-sub-option 1.10 (normal-flash 11 times) : tap the switch to select mode group 10 (100, 20, strobe)

Please make strobes 10Hz constant frequency. Not the horrible alternating strobe frequency in Biscotti.

It would be nice if the primary mode was not the 1.1 with flashing , but the 1.2 without flashing. If it were to revert to default for some reason, it would not revert to the annoying flashing mode. For me, the most important thing is the ability to disable the memory.

Will the above apply for the planned Convoy T2 with 12-mode groups, or will this be applied to all new Convoy flashlights that have the “12-group” firmware?

Hi Simon, rather sad …. would appreciate if Convoy would continue in the “high quality” space.
And I indeed would appreciate moon for AA lamps as well - even more than for 18650, because the former are more used in low-light conditions.
And of course, this would be a USP vs. many other AA lamps !
Reg. the sub-options: why is bat-check only available together with the strobe modes ??
Other than that, I prefer 1/20/100 (1.5) and 1/10/35/100 (1.2). For special cases maybe 1/10/50 (1.8). Never would use any of the other mode grps.
Btw: any plans for colored bodys for AA ?
Edit: ah, and I prefer no memory, or at least be able to disable mem !
There is a global chip shortage, many companies are struggling to maintain their supplies.
So, now you have 11 groups. Instead removing original 10 (1, 10, 35, 100), maybe replace it with two mode group - 20, 100%.
ok ,good idea

Memory is turned on by default, you can also turn it off.

only for T2
Sorry to say, but I have grown tired of waiting for SBT-90.2 L6.
Time to get something else.

Well, there's this saying: "Good things come to those who wait." ;-)
Anyway, maybe you should have a look at WildTrail's WT90 which is meant to be launched anytime soon.
Hi Simon, can you recommend which solder to use when assembling a host? What type do you use in your flashlights? Leaded or lead free?

I’m sure it will be worth the wait.
Hi Simon, can you recommend which solder to use when assembling a host? What type do you use in your flashlights? Leaded or lead free?
Not sure what Simon uses, but I like 63/37 leaded solder. It has a lower melting point and it’s easier to work with.

Tin wire brand “MECHANIC”
The key is the soldering iron,
T2 solder iron , The temperature can reach 400 degrees Celsius, and use use D24 soldering iron tip
It’s much easier if you preheat your host. A little while in the toaster oven to get it near 100c makes it much easier on your soldering iron.
How are the LH351D bins from Simon?
I’m looking at getting a couple T2’s maybe in 4000K, or 3500/2700K

I’ve have some S2+ with 2700k and 5700k and the tints are fantastic. The 5700k has a very slight green tint but hasn’t caused any issues with photography. If you follow the Instagram link in my signature you can see some photos taken using these lights.
