Nice going! I’d have done the same, if I didn’t already have the black one. Love that green, also the orange. Just don’t need a duplicate. But it’s a real curiosity of a flashlight with a lot to appreciate. Put a lanyard on it. The handling of it is immensely improved, given how there’s no clip possible.
Xevious, I have just heard from my daughter in Gillete, NJ, that there is a storm in the area. Stay safe.
My wife is going to visit our daughter next month. I am sending some of my spare flashlights to my daughter, including my Convoy L7.
I think it will be more useful for her and family to do some “light safari” in their backyard. The Gillete area is a wooded neighbour with three parks and one river. Putting some colour lens on the L7 will be nice, will not spook the wildlife coming out at night.
But so far I have not found any colour lens that can fit the Convoy L7. The colour lens from Astrolux FT03 are slightly too small. But I am thinking of taping the plastic colour lens to the flashlight head.
Does anyone have a better solution? Maybe I have to look for colour lens in some second-hand camera shops.
A brandless $7.99 12x emitter flashlight, from the amazon deals thread: Amazon Deal Alerts & Discussion Thread - #4317 by lampliter
I believe this one give the most lumens per $, eye estimate around 1,800 and the tint is surprisingly good, no blue or green shift. It also has USB-C charging at 1.6A rate. Build quality is a lot better than I expected for this price, UI is about the worst I’ve seen for an e-switch, but at least has single click on-off and memory.
However the runtime is atrocious even with the 3x integrated 18650, I would guess these are the lowest if the lowest quality cells available. I wil replace them with some 2,800mah powerbank pulls.
That’s a lot of flashlight for less than $10!
Two chintzy 3aaa headlamps for $7 shipped from Meh. Review here: Review: what this world needs is a good $3.50 headlamp
Got the L21B SFT40 and it instantly became my favorite convoy. Perfect centering and beam, amazing throw for the size/weight and feels very well balanced on hand.
For $35 this is easily one of the best value thrower in the market. I love the zero BS approach, there is not a single thing in the L21B that doesn’t need to be there, and even though this is marketed as a hunting flashlight there isn’t any tactical nonsense in the design.
TrustFire TR3T6 and a tail-switch bought together on TrustFire shop in Ali Express for just about US$40 (without battery). I like the extension tube to use three 18650 cells.
Actually this simple flashlight (no side switch) is now cheaper, because of the ongoing End of Season Sale.
Won this from Neal at nealsgadgets, cant believe my luck i won the first prize haha its sst-20 4000k tint so totally nice gift.

Is there any place to get that pouch in english?
Got another mail call from Simon at Convoy…
First a new M21b with the wonderful FC40 @ 4500k. This led makes everything just pop, really does rival the Nichia 219b sw-45k!
And also got 3 T2’s with the Nichia 219b sw-45k. Best emitter out there!

Zebralight SC53 yesterday.
Very underwhelming.
Output is surprisingly low. So much so that I wonder if I got one of the dud Zebralights.
This is supposed to output over 300 lumens on an Eneloop. But it’s dimmer than lights I got 10 years ago.
My old Spark SL-5 with 190 lumens is twice as bright.
It feels like actual output is more like 100 lumens. I consider this too dim for EDC.
