Yeah, the way they did it really doesn’t make a lot of sense. I’m not complaining. I got one of the $5 ones to add to the $16 one that I already have.
They should have done this when they first introduced the TI to help promote a new light as well as their company in general. This isn’t going to expand their customer base really.
If they want to reach the more general market they can’t really do that from China. It needs to be (for the U.S.) from their U.S. dealers. I didn’t even order my first TI from China.
However, it is worthwhile to provide deals to enthusiasts but it would help them more to do it in such a way that it helps introduce new product to enthusiasts.
I give them credit for actually providing a great light at a very discounted price with no unnecessary gimmicks involved (think DD $8 light).
iappologize for suggesting that you ought to just .."get over it " or that you should let them hold your mail or have someone else pick up your mail .
I'm sure it made no sense to some people that they might forget to hold your mail /or send the light back ...But considering your circumstances and the general condition of Greece ...Not trusting the post office makes much more sense .i understand your frustrations and also cannot even begin to imagine some of what's going on in your country ..Again I appologize for assuming things are the same worldwide when it's obvious it isn't .
I assume you found Thrunite an intelligent well run company that cares and understands your concerns and is willing to do whatever it can to facilitate you recieving your light .
What? :~ You obviously don’t understand marketing! I drive an Audi and would not buy anything else, but that does not stop Mercedes and BMW trying to sell me a car! If they offered me a very good deal, I may look at them. But if they offered me a deal and then withdrew it prematurely, I would not think they were very professional and would avoid them.
Why on earth would a flashlight company try and avoid a flashlight community? It’s target audience. You must be the only person here with only one brand of torch the I presume?
I have not missed the point at all. Thrunite have got a lot of brand awareness recently here and on facebook after this promotion. The problem is it is not a positive.
It’s ok, I suppose they were overwhelmed by the number of orders they got for the \$5 offer, and they got more than they could handle… :p
Although usually the postal system here works very well, it definitely lags behind the organization and service of other western countries, in many areas. As for Greece, well countries and governments nowadays are run not by politicians, or by the will of the people, but by multinational companies, banks, and funds… someone always makes money by causing suffering at someone else…
We should have an after sale swap so people who want to swap the low mode with firefly can find each other. I don’t really care about color but I hope I don’t dim (firefly) version. I don’t have any use for a light that barely works.
I was sure I had paid for one low-level firefly, the early days of the original offer (and I only registered one time)
Now I don’t know if that’s what’s going to be shipped, apparently not.
And when I go to their website, I can’t find any way to order a low-level firefly.
Is there a reseller handling these who knows what they have, and can sell the specific model/color/brightness that a customer wants?

I just placed an order within the last half hour and got it for $10.99, 2100 PDT. I’m hoping its black like in the picture and I hope it’s the .04 lumen version as I’ve been looking for a good Moon Mode flashlight. I already have a 3 lumen Titanium Innovations Illuminati and at times 3 lumens is too bright and messes with night vision. I’ve ordered from China before (RC helicopters) and the longest I had to wait was around 30 days. Can’t say I’m used to the waiting but the price was good and hopefully it will turn out well.
I forgot to add that my main concern with ordering fromChinais that my credit information is now on some overseas server with potentially questionable security. Maybe I’m just too paranoid since security hasn’t been so tight here in the states recently. With the helicopters they shipped as “gifts” and were subject to being held up in Customs for inspection, which could take a few days to a few weeks, but more often than not the package just went right on through unopened. Due to its relatively smaller size I’m expecting this package to come through faster, knock on wood.
