Jetbeam PA40 – Cool white – SMO reflector.

Lovely AA powered light, I shall try and make a short write up about it at some point.

I wear my sunglasses at night.

Whoa did your L2M come with the really cool bezel or did you order that separate?

I am already visualizing the duct tape over your mouth.

My $33 UltraFire HD-2010 came today. I tried to distract my wife but it didn’t work, she wanted to know why I needed another flashlight, so I told her “this baby is rated at 1300 lumens. If our power goes out again, I wanted us to have something to light up the room”.

I don’t think she bought it.

My infrared thermometer finally came.

Now I can include temperature readings in my next comparison when I receive my STL V2.

I measured my eBay HID bulb to run at approx 175 degrees celcius (347 farenheit) after 1 minute, pretty hot!

Shipping is not included but in the past it’s never been more than $2.25 for a handfull of LEDs and/or optic lenses. I just ordered 3 of the U2 bin just now.

Like most others here, I’m using the “foil trick”, but pressed foil doesn’t look like an reliable mechanical & electrical contact to me, so I use these copper gaskets to get proper contact and a tight fit. Press one gasket onto the pill and put another one into the tube, then put the drop-in in and fasten the head as far as possible without risking to ruin the threads. There might remain a little gap on the outside (between head and tube), though, but copper gaskets are usually made of soft-annealed copper and can be sanded down quite easy.

The foil isn’t for electrical contact (spring) or mechanics (reflector against glass) as much as heat conduction.

I got my UF-V3 from off ebay. Tailcap innards weren’t screwed in well, but when I fixed that problem, this baby is a thrower with performance on league with my Keygos and just below the 980L. Is much smaller than it looks, too.

Got a grey E09.

Checked out the Tank007 E05 as well (which is actually not a fake, even though it doesn’t have any serial number), but didn’t buy it as the E09 is clearly superior.

The Klarus MiX6 Au finally arrived from DD (thanks the). Not say I was worried (ordered 29th June, sent 6th July), but I was sure it had gone AWOL.

First thought was “Mmmmm, bit naff”. A very low high, and a low – could barely see it on the ceiling. Then I looked at the manual. I’ve obviously been waiting a long time, because I’d forgotten it has 4 modes! So I was hitting M-L, and forgetting the next two – High and Blinky. Mind you, what in God’s name is a strobe doing on a light like this?

Still definitely a shelf queen – I wouldn’t want to scratch the gold off by putting on a keyring.

I got APEX ST6 from Ric.

Simply beautiful light. Go and grab one while the group buy is still active.

More initial impressions in the ST6 thread.

I got this lil guy today. I LOVE it so far. The only thing I want, is a NW emitter in it and it’d be tied with my ZL SC600w for favorite light.

Speaking of SC600, check out the size of the EC2 in comparison. Impressive.

A Unique fire F12a arrived in the mail today but no one was home to sign for it. Will have to have it redelivered Saturday morning. Can’t wait to compare it to the Z8.
