great news got my accucell 6 in the mail, and tested it on a 12V lead acid battery i thought was dead.
it was charging on its own charger in less than an hour, and was dead in 20 mins (35watt HID was the draw)
after using the accucell 6 to drain it completely (at 1 amp) and recharge it completely, i was able to milk about 2.5 Ah out of the OLD 4.5AH battery it was
good enough for HID use now!
saved me 20 bux for the time being!
now, i shall due some serious testing with batteries, after looking at the list, i see we dont have the Old Sanyo Ni-mh, energizer ni-mh, nor powergenix Ni-zn.
so those will be my first submissions (will do on wednesday, its my day off lol)
also have the trustfire 18650 flames, 14500 and rcr123's.
can someone suggest a battery holder that may plug into the wiring provided for my charger?
but they are a bit on the long side - I need to stick a 2mm thick magnet on the end of each 18650 to get reliable contact.
If you want to balance charge you need to make up a balancing harness as well - the simplest way is to buy a balancing lead extension and cut off the female end. I 5think i got my cables from eBay but HobbyKing probably have them.
I also tested the AA Maxuss 3000 mah batteries. About 1750 mah. But I had recharged them 2 times so they are not new. Don't buy them http://www.dealextreme.com/p/maxuss-1-2v-3000mah-ni-mh-aa-rechargeable-batteries-2-pack-7729
I got an 8 pack of eneloops from an OZ seller. Came in a clear packet- no label or anything. They look legit as far as I can tell. Currently discharging straight out of the packet.
I have some ready to use Varta aa 2100 and 2500. I will not post results as they are not new and have been "cooked" a few times on the 15 minute charger. I noted that the 2100 has been charging for almost 3 hours and the capacity was 2400 mah and climbing. The battery felt overly hot so I stopped it charging. I'll buy a new pack and test soon.
I think these are pretty good numbers for inexpensive AAA cells, and they are nicely consistent across the 4 cells. They also get good reviews on DX. They arrived almost 100% discharged.
