Thrower: A flashlight that can throw its beam the farthest. The light will likely have a very narrow beam and may not give out the same lumens as others but these are for one aim, and one aim only, distance. Lux figures are important here, not lumens.

Regarding the Small Sun C10: I've measured it at 45 Kcd but since the reports of its tail cap current being anything from 0,8 A to 2,1 A I guess there are variations to measurements too. Mine pulled 1,4A in high and did 45 kCd. It is VERY easy to mod with Nanjg 105C 2,8 A driver (despite soldering of the led wires I consider it almost a "drop-in driver" solution for the light) With the Nanjg pulling a steady 2,8 A I get 68 kCd BTW.

Obviously Lux readings are dependant on who tested them and lots of other factors so i have taken rough figures found by googling. I have also only included standard lights, modded lights may well give far better bang for buck but are a little out of scope for this. Where a bracket is found next to the Lux reading it indicates a figure close (rounded) to that persons readings, ie (SB) = Selfbuilt.
Misc info may not be complete, ie a light that takes 2x18650 may also take 4xCR123 etc or other battery combinations, i'll include the most common.
Advise for flashlight newbies: A lot of newbies want the wow factor of a thrower and indeed, to many the throwers give the biggest wow. With that said please check beamshot posts, as an example the Dereelight is an amazing thrower but the beam is almost laser like, this looks awesome but practical use is very limited. On the otherhand you have the TK70, this thing throws and floods but does this at expence of size. Think carefully as many throwers end up being shelf queens rarely used. A good P60 such as a solarforce package or a C8 such as the XinTD maybe a better starting point.
Disclaimer: I will try to keep the info accurate but i make no claim that it actually is. Confirm details with sellers/manufacturers if required.
The (stock) Jacob A60 is around 55 Klux according to several different users including myself.
The Trustfire X9 - a once revered light around here - is approx 39 Klux stock. Also from several sources but not myself. Goes from around 33 usd on ebay.
Hi Silverbolt, i had a C10 but didnt care for it and gave it away, but it is certainly a good thrower. ILikeFlashlights compared his with the Jacob in that price range tho and the Jacob just edges it.
I think I read that same thread, and I have to agree with you. The C10 is good, but the Jacob is alot sexier. I have both on the way and will probably have something done to the C10.
Don’t forget you can get 8% off that price with coupon code: TMPRICE (if you haven’t already used it on something else - it’s single use per customer only)
I will list the cheapest version suggested mate unless they have driver issues etc. Thanks for the link, i will edit the table
EDIT: OK with the suggestions we now have the STL-V2 and HD2010 in the same price bracket. What do you guys think, should i add an alternative for each price range or will that make it too comlicated/busy? Also im not sure i like just having a aspheric taking a bracket, although this thread is simply about throw…… What do you guys think?
OK mate, i will edit, i was trying to round them to the nearest 5 lux due to variances, but with these so close your right, i might have to put those figures to show the difference.
