Yep, exactly what I was wondering - how to mount that odd shape. I wondered about those "two fake blocks". I should get some of them anyway.
EDIT - BTR, where do you recommend getting them? Manafont have them? (Since I'd order the light form there anyway.)

My latest batch was from ebay (just search for handlebar mount) and sort by cheapest,
less than $1.60 shipped.
Quality was good (on par with twofakes from more expensive vendors) and shipping was really fast.

As a sanity test for your runtime graph which seems flat across entire lithium range, can you see if 1 cell has exact same output as 2? Or even better, it is possible to test boost capability with 2 AAs (directly with DMM)?
With 1 cell: yes, if the cell is good enough with low internal resistance. Probably the driver will not hold the constant current over the whole liion range, but in the first part of the discharge phase it will be regulated.
It will not work with 2 AAs surely, it’s not a boost driver.
Hmm… then those cells hold up to better than I would expect over the runtime. It only tails off at the very end.
In any case, CR123a’s might actually work here.

Anyone want to test with CR123’s and confirm?

Will this accept flat top 18650 or will they need the ‘nipple’

Squidboy, I just saw your photo on the news feed for my messenger lolsome kind of bioluminescent squid thought it was a cool picture!
Oh and I have this baby on the way!!! Reading this thread makes me happy, and it just shipped yesterday 8)
Now comes the waiting game.
Would a higher ohm resistor feed it more current?

Hi ILF, any chance of a beamshot comparison against the Jacob?
I messed up both of my Jacobs trying to dedome them. But from what I have seen the ZY-T08 I would say will out throw the Jacob A60 from what I have to go by here at the house in distance.

Why? I mean like they didn’t throw well enough stock?
Ok. I figure the answer will be curiousity. I do it too once in a crazy mood while.
Btw, are ya gonna try and de-dome the T08 too?
(I think this forum needs one of those smileys with a battle helmet. ;)….

What !!! You must be joking.
I’m not gonna fall for the dedoming trick again. No way. My FandyFire dedomed job still in my opinion don’t beat the Crelant 7G5.

Okay, ILF, you win. I have ordered the ZY-T08
Couple resistors later and I will be J)

That's the truth. All of my dedomed xm-l's roughly doubled the lux value.
a perfectly dedomed xm-l (that was the stock led)
